ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I cant open the config window anymore.
Quote: ...nfig-3.0\AceConfigDialog-3.0\AceConfigDialog-3.0.lua:1863: AceConfigRegistry-3.0:ValidateOptionsTable(): ArkInventory.args.advanced.args.ldb.args.mounts.args.x.args: expected a table, got 'nil'
I already disabled all other addons to check if its really a problem caused by ArkInventory.
that should have been fixed in 3.09.40. its usually caused by having the mount location unmonitored
Are there any downloads with pre-configured Akrinventory.
i dont think so. there are export/import options for layouts but its not that great due to the complexity of having to merge the resulting import of profiles, layouts, custom categories and rules so its very basic at this time.
you may be able to ask someone to upload a sanitised copy of their saved variables file if you find a layout you like
Every time I try and use the search button I get this error popup in the text chat:
ArkInventory: WARNING> Please load and/or enable a search add-on first.
Needless to say I've got the search add-on module installed (and I've tried without it being installed). Any help/thoughts on what to do here?
maybe try a re-install? i would have expected other errors if the search module couldnt load
Hello, I'm getting a weird issue where the bag is started sorting ( putting items in their category ) instantly, even though I have the sorting method set to "On Window Open".
Did I miss something? I'd like the items to remain in their spot until I manually refresh / re-open the bags.
Tried the current alpha version, same there. Must be a setting somewhere.
This came some time ago, with an update. I was hoping it would get fixed, but it's been a while, and I'd like it to behave as it used to.
*UPDATE*: I was able to resolve this by adding a new Sorting Method. Details below:
Previously I removed all except my default custom method. So there was only 1 sorting method in the list.
I went ahead and added a new method named "Default", copied the settings from Bag / Slot.
And that worked, the sorting is reverted back to only happen when I open the bags.
Started a new DK and have been constantly getting this error:
2x ...rfaceArkInventory\ArkInventoryTradeskill.lua:340: attempt to index field 'data' (a nil value)
[string "@ArkInventory\ArkInventoryTradeskill.lua"]:340: in function `ScanHeaders'

He is presently in Outlands - level 60 - and is a miner/blacksmith.
Is there something I need to be doing at my end?
Thank you for great addon :-)

In reply to Arkayenro:
Both problems are fixed, thanks.
But still there is one: when I link some item from void storage from blizzard window in chat -- ok:
[18:56:49] [S] [120:Охохохотник]: [Уничтожитель рыбы Ната Пэгла]
When I try to link same item from arkinventory window:
[18:57:08] [S] [120:Охохохотник]: item:19944
will be fixed in the next release

Can you please make this work with 1.12? I need it <3 I love this addon, saves me so much time.
I have tried all these versions with 'vanilla wow' and none work even with the load out of date option checked:
ArkInventory-r58109.1
ArkInventory-r58109-nolib
ArkInventory-r58109
3.09.38-Classic
3.09.38-Classic-nolib
in what way doesnt it work in classic?
and where are you getting the r58109 versions from? curse is at 1000ish and my own internal svn is at around 3000ish
