ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Wrath)
The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it instead of the full variant and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full variant. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from here.
Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
Alpha / Beta Versions: Ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup so before installing any alpha/beta version please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variable file
Your saved variable file is normally located in ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose your configuration or it gets screwed up because of an alpha/beta version, it is always a possibility so you need to be prepared.
A simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

If you are having an issue then the first step is to disable all other mods and just test ArkInventory by itself
If the issue is still there then please check for an existing issue and lodge a new ticket if required.
If the issue is gone then re-enable your other mods one by one until the issue comes back, then report that to me as well as the other mods author
When posting a comment about an error please do not include the list of addons or really long traces, just the actual error message is fine. If I need more I'll ask you for it.
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

bug : sometimes and i dont know what causes it,the tooltip when mousing over items in inven is blank, have to reload to clear it
as in no tooltip at all or one that just has the border?
and do you have any other mods installed that touch the tooltips?
Is there a way to suggest translations? The buttons to change the order of rules while creating custom sorting methods are labeled wrong in german and should be "hoch" and "runter" instead of "Verfügbar" and "Nicht verfügbar". That is a little confusing.
if its a small number just copy/paste the entries from your language file with the translation and post them here
if its a lot then do the same but email them to me instead
for those specific entries its meant to be up/down as in move up/move down (it used the realm state text) but in german those seem to translate as available and not available, which wont work so i can pull them out and set them they way you have said
you may also need to check the tooltip text is correct
L["CONFIG_SORTING_MOVE_UP_TEXT"] = "verschiebt %1$s in der Sortierreihenfolge nach oben"
L["CONFIG_SORTING_MOVE_DOWN_TEXT"] = "verschiebt %1$s in der Sortierreihenfolge nach unten"
%1$s is replaced with the sort key name
In reply to Arkayenro:
The tooltip text is correct.
In version 3.09.27 sections of my bank are jumping around and overlapping each other, everything takes ages to load and some parts do not even load at all sometimes. Occasionally I get this error message: Interface\AddOns\ArkInventory\ArkInventory.lua:3335: bad argument #1 to 'ipairs' (table expected, got nil).
Also, while in offline mode, old gear tokens (wich I sort using custom tooltip content filter) are not sorted at all. BfA gear tokens however are sorted properly, even through I sort them using the exact same kind of filter, and also all other items which I filter by using tooltip content are sorted correctly. Caged pets on the other hand are not even shown up in offline mode after a login or reload.
In addition ArkInventory is completely ignoring my transmog settings. No matter what symbols I pick to indicate learnable items, the addon only shows me the smiley symbols in default colors.
it shouldnt be possible for that data to be nil but i've added checks around it that should help if somehow if does end up nil
In reply to Arkayenro:
I discovered that if I open my bank in offline mode before I open my actual bank, my loading problem is much less extreme. Is there maybe an interference with the stored data?
try erasing your bank data, see if that helps. see https://github.com/arkayenro/arkinventory/wiki/UserGuide_HowTo_EraseData
In reply to Arkayenro:
Deleted the whole addon and reinstalled it. Also erased bank data. Nothing helped.
Caged pets are displayed as a yellow WoW- symbol and have no tooltip. Debug says, type is unknown (-2). In the past there was an option to "track pets" or something like that. Is that still a thing?
yes, thats a normal timing thing. sometimes pets take longer to sort out and get cached.
In reply to Arkayenro:
Timing thing or not, they are still not displayed correctly. Also it is not possible to sort them correctly through filters because of that. I can not even learn them by right-clicking them. And that does not happen sometimes, but always and forever. While I have them picked up with my mouse, the icon is shown correctly, but goes back to the WoW symbol as soon as I drop them.
you can try moving them from one slot to another to see if that fixes it
if that doesnt work then erase the bag data (or whichever location they are in), its possible its gotten corrupted or has invalid data in there which is confusing it.
In reply to Arkayenro:
I already deleted the addon, erased all .lua settings files, reinstalled and reconfigurated everything in order to solve the problem mentioned above (did not work). While I pick them up with my mouse, the icons are shown correctly, but as soon as I drop them (same place or somwhere else) they go back to WoW symbol.
Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but is it possible to exclude some items from the "who else has this" list?
Example; I have pet charms scattered across various toons, so to keep track of who needs to send them to my main, I have the tool tips set to check all realms. However, mousing over things like my garrison hearthstone will generate a 50 mile tool tip (and I don't need a tool tip to tell me my lvl 90+ toons have a garrison hearthstone). So I'd want to exclude that item from being included in scans/searches.
Thanks in advance =)
unfortunately no. although i may be able to add that in so long as you dont mind it being purely item id based, so all variants of that item would be excluded
In reply to Arkayenro:
That actually sounds swell! If you could, that be a really nice little addition :D
