ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
In reply to BOGsocks:
tested in Classic .. there is no problems with menu the open as they should to the right and no overlap
In reply to BOGsocks:
looks like its fix .. possible size of font that did it
In reply to BOGsocks:
here is what i found .. the menu will stay with in Arkinventory bag window. if you try to use it with a location all the way on right side it gets messed up.
idk if this photo will post .. let me know if you need a copy
Hello, I'm trying to do something I thought was fairly simple but I seem to be having issues.
Essentially, I have and want the same basic layout/colors across all characters. But I want a few of the bar categories to be different on characters based on their professions. I read through the wiki and thought I understood the profile/blueprint thing and the category sets. But it seems like I can't get this to work.
This is what I *think* should work:
I create another category set (i.e. Mining/JC) and choose the appropriate categories on the bar. I go to another character and set up another with Herb/Alch and again choose appropriate categories. I go back to the first and it's pulling the one I just set up and not the first. Even if I change it back to Mining/JC and reload, it still only reads what I did last.
What am I missing/doing wrong with the setup? Or is what I want no longer possible since it doesn't seem to save settings at a character level and instead on a global level now?
Thanks.
style = colouring
layout = what categories go on what bar
category set = what items go into what categories - and what categories are enabled
i think youre using a different category set when you want a different layout
typically you have one (or two) styles, one category set, and multiple layouts
the tricky part is making sure youre changing the values in the correct profile as the config allows you to change them for any profile (whichever is selected), and not just the current/active one, unlike most other mods
Is there a way to lock the position of ArkInventory in place when hiding the free inventory space?
Currently the window re-positions itself at every turn if the amount of items changes/gets sorted in categories.
in the config (design) you can set change the sorting to manual, that way nothing will change (layout wise) until you click on the refresh button, or something else forces a refresh
in the profile one of the corners should always be the anchor point where the bag grows from so you may want to pick another corner that makes the layout changes less obvious
How can I turn off the AI restacking and just use Blizz restack? I see the option, but if I uncheck it, nothing happens. I use TSM to manage my bank and the two are conflicting.
right click on the restack icon and change the type back to blizzard
At the end of Farmer Goldfield quest line. I rec'd this error

First and foremost: Thanks a lot, its a great addon!
And second i have a feature request: would it be possible to get the item level display in the color the quality of the item has? example: if the item is epic the color of the item level text is purple. I would really like to see such a feature.
will be in the next version
i dont think it really helps much as the quality colours dont contrast very well but it was easy to add and people like options
In reply to Arkayenro:
thanks :)
Tried it, spent an hour trying to work out how it works, too complicated. Separating the inventory apart from the guild bank and personal bank is not easily laid out and straight forward. This interface could have been laid out alot more simply.
First, I want to say I LOVE this addon!
Now, my issue. I sell pets on the AH and use TSM. TSM's tooltip provides pricing information based on the settings applied to an item which is very helpful for auctioning. ARK removes all this information and provides different information related to source and pet status which as a pet collector is also very helpful. Is there a way to allow information from both to appear either on the same tooltip or separate tool tips (but at the same time). That would be my ideal situation. Alternately, but much less desirable, is there a way to turn off the ARK pet tooltip on a separate profile. I've looked through the setup, but don't see anything that jumps out at me that would seem to provide this ability.
I can not for the life of me figure out how to post images on CURSE, If someone could provide a brief how to, I can add the images of both versions.
its not removing it, its just a custom tooltip that they arent adding to.
your only choices are to either;
In reply to Arkayenro:
Thank for the quick response. I've sent a note to TSM about it but will do your other option in the meantime :)
