ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Is there a way to set this up so when you right click on say an herb it goes straight into the reagent tab instead of the main bank?
Yes, I know there's deposit all reagents, but that's not what I want to do. It's odd but I have a particular way I sort my bags (to the point that it really annoys me when it messes up) and I don't want to put all my crafting mats into the reagent tab.
Yes, I'm strange, I know.
unfortunately no. while i show both the reagent bank and the normal bank at the same time in the background the bank tab is active so right clicks go there
I figured out a work around, well not with the mod, a work around for my picky OCD. XD lol
Love this mod though! I'm glad Bagnon was broken long enough after the patch that I gave this one a try. lol. (Of course, if this one breaks ever, my bank and bags will be a mess. LMAO)
nvm, i somehow shut off the monitor lol
After the 7.3 update I'm now getting this error:

Ordinarily I don't comment on here much but I love your addon so much and I can't live without it haha. I hadn't seen anyone report this error yet so I thought I'd let you know. Thank you for the amazing inventory addon! :)
Not sure how I got this error in the first place but just for future reference for anyone else who may get this error, it seems the crappy Twitch client didn't update ArkInventory properly. I had to delete the addon (settings included, just in case), then reinstall from scratch to get this error to go away. Everything is working perfectly now.
you should never have to remove the settings - no updater should ever touch them. the game itself may occasionally corrupt them when shutting down badly but thats it.
worse case, just make sure youve got backups of your settings so you dont have to go through setting it up from scratch
Hey there and first let me thank you for your great BagAddon. Since recently I'd assume the last bigger Arkinventory patch before 7.3 was released. I have a style issue. I'm running elvui and AddonSkins. But since that patch my Inventory Windows have normal wow Borders until I open the config upon then they change back to the sharp corners 0 borders and transparency look of elvui. Whats up with that ?
I have the same issue, what can we do? :)
if you're comfortable editing lua files, update ArkInventory.lua, replacing lines 4863 to 4888:

Hello,
Little question I do not have any error message but when I cage pet their icon is a Wow logo and when I mouse over them i do not get anything saying what pet it is. is it a problem with Wow or the addon?
Hey
Little question, i have set my bag to Manually sorting, but when i for instance want to throw an item away, it then refreshes the windows to resort/remove the empty slots in that category, i do not want it to do that, or well it happens when i delete more then 1 item, if i delete only 1 item the empty slot stays there, if i then go and throw another item out it instantly want to refresh the whole bag, and i dont want it to do that.
Am i missing something with the Manually refresh thing ?
are you sure you set sorting to manual in the correct style/layout? the one being used by that window.
when on manual it shouldnt update at all by itself. you have to click on the refresh icon to rebuild/resort it
How do I make the loot start at the bottom of my bags and work it's way up? I already have it set to reverse cleanup but it puts items in the top of the right most bag and not on the bottom row in the window. I'm able to do it with Bagnon but can't find a way to do it with Ark.
if you want the ai window to start at the bottom left then you need to set the item anchors to bottom left (they default to top right). you may also need to set the bar anchor to bottom left as well if you want to start there as well.
I have a small issue with inventory window scaling. On some of my alts the inventory displays just fine, while on other alts the inventory gets scaled up with half of the window getting cropped out.
Cropped inventory window
The window itself gets reverted back to its original size by just typing 1 letter into the search field.
Correct inventory window
I don't know why this is happening.
clicking on the refresh icon might also fix it
its most likely a threading issue, it broke a lot of the window drawing as it can get aborted half way through and have to start again and that can screw it up. i havent been able to work out a way to make it completely thread safe yet.
you can also go into config > workarounds and bump up the out of combat value to 2000 and see if that helps - the downside is that you may start to get script ran too long errors, in which case youll have to drop it back down until the error stops.
Weird - with the newest version my problem seems to be solved.
I logged every alt and now there is a slight delay of ~1.5-2 seconds of a seemingly oversized inventory window at the right corner of the screen - but then the inventory is properly displayed with the correct scaling at the proper position.
