ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
looks like blizzard made mythic keystones their own class so they are no longer "item". the error should stop in 3.07.25 just have to work out what else they changed for them but i dont have one on me so cant test that yet
possible to show ilvl on items in the bag ?
Reputation slots also refused taking reputation items, they are taken into Soulbound tab
Updated to latest version, now get:
Message: ..\AddOns\ArkInventory\ArkInventoryConst.lua line 14:
Cannot find a library instance of "AceAddon-3.0".
try reinstalling it, you cant be missing one of the ace3 libraries
until this patch, I didn't actually NEED the ace3 libraries.
I've never had them installed.
Works fine once I download and install them.
Perhaps an update to the LUA to reflect the dependency?
actually you did need them or AI wouldnt load at all as its an ace3 based mod.
if you use the no-lib version of AI then its up to you to download ace3 (and all the other libs) as well, if you use the normal version it includes all the required libs. check your curse client setup for which variant its downloading.
the entire ace3 library is included a dependency, has been since i started using it several years back
can't click toys in toybox. i have to drag them to my action bar to use them
7x [ADDON_ACTION_FORBIDDEN] AddOn 'ArkInventory' hat versucht die geschützte Funktion 'UseToy()' aufzurufen.
!BugGrabber\BugGrabber.lua:573: in function <!BugGrabber\BugGrabber.lua:573>

...faceBlizzard_Collections\Blizzard_ToyBox.lua:144: in function `ToySpellButton_OnClick'

toy window is read only (always has been), ie you cant click on them because its a secure function, you have to drag to the action bar to use.
this is simply not true. in standart ui u CAN click the toys to use them without draging them to the actionbar. but when arkinventory is active i get the error message mentioned above and the toy are not activated.this does not always happen. sometimes they are clickable even when arkinventory is active
Don't know if this was asked already or not but I could not find it. Currently the bank shows 16 columns. With the 30 slot bags and now the Reagent Bank bag it makes the window to long and doesn't allow the user to see the bags below or the menu options at the top. Is there any way to edit this and make it 17 or 18 columns so this will shorten the length and won't exceed the length of the window? If there is how is this done?
change the window width in the layout that youre using
Game thought I was in combat, however no living mobs were left around. So, getting the following when accessing an item in bags.
10x [ADDON_ACTION_BLOCKED] AddOn 'ArkInventory' tried to call the protected function 'PickupContainerItem()'.
!BugGrabber\BugGrabber.lua:573: in function <!BugGrabber\BugGrabber.lua:573>
[C]: in function `PickupContainerItem'
FrameXML\ContainerFrame.lua:1012: in function `ContainerFrameItemButton_OnClick'
ArkInventory\ArkInventory-3.07.02.lua:7338: in function `Frame_Item_OnDrag'
[string "*:OnReceiveDrag"]:1: in function <[string "*:OnReceiveDrag"]:1>
Perhaps you could check for the combat condition and handle this a bit more elegantly.
you might want to consider upgrading from 3.07.02 to 3.07.23, i think i might have seen that error at some point and fixed it
how can we sort relics by item lvl and type (fire, arcane, blood, etc)
the sorting should be fairly straight forward, sort by ilvl
grouping them by category not so much, you could create a rule for each type
Any chance you can fix the weird spam when you open banks? Keep getting spammed in chat when going to bank, had this for long.
youll need to provide a little bit more info, as in what text its spitting out?
Asked once before but did not get an answer. It would be awesome to have a hotkey to "show hidden" items toggle. The edit one is nice, but often I hide a lot and then once a week I mail junk around to alts and need to show hiddens on a lot of alts. Perfectly doable with clicking but would be a time saver.
Thanks for the great work.
macro this and see if it works;
/run ArkInventory.ToggleShowHiddenItems( )
Mouse-over an item doesn't show numbers from different character correctly for me. That is. it only show for some characters (mostly max 3 characters). This is from 7.1.5 (or maybe 7.0.5).
Is there something I do wrong?
Btw, I still can't the header of my categories.
