ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
config > settings > styles/layouts > the style you use for the bag > window > style > window > scale
it looks convoluted but its not when youre just clicking
thank you buddy :)
Hello! Great addon, I've always loved it since I've found it. Right now, I'm struggling with getting the rules to work. I play a druid so I have a set for feral, guardian, and resto and I sorting them out in my bags. I have the rule setup as outfit ("RestoE") for my pve resto set and I want to apply that to bar 11. I go into bar 11's customize and when I add the rule, it adds it to bar 1 and my gear sorts out there. It's also happening with a different set on multiple bars.
Any advice you can give would be great as this was my all time favorite feature of your addon.
Thank you for your time in advance.
click on bar 11, then the menu option where you enable that particular rule, click on the actual rule name to assign it to the bar, enabling it does not assign it.
Is there any way that I can search something like "soulbound" or "BoE" or "Bind on Equip" in order to highlight only those items? The description mentions that the addon uses tooltip scanning to assign its type so it should be possible for the addon to highlight things that are soulbound or bound in some other way. Just wondering because I had been using the ElvUI bags and searching on there for "soulbound" would highlight all soulbound items which was very useful for quickly selling anything I wanted to a vendor or auction.
you just have to filter, press the yellow bottom and then select the number and put select the category you want, btw read the faqs all is there
These problems are getting really old. The normal bag will not let me use it, or sort it, it is grayed out. I have to use the guild bank or another layout.
Lastly, it randomly loses formats, and is all screwed up. I really want this addon to continue working, but it is really getting old. I have deleted, removed folders, cleaned out all existence of it, to reinstall, and its still broken.
when you mouseover items in the bag do you get a tooltip (presuming you havent disabled it)?
if you open the bag changer and mouseover the bag does it highlight all the items?
is it every item in the bag that is greyed out or just some?
they should only be greyed out if the game is telling me they are locked
Hi there, first of all thanks for this great Addon i cant live without it! But there is 1 Problem thats really anoying. When u loot i get nasty FPS Drops i dont know whats the Problem, even when i sell items the FPS Drop is crazy.
sounds like bag updates, so anything in or out. in the config do you have sorting set to instant?
Hi Ark,
my Sorting is set to On Window Open. But i disabled all other addons now and checked it, was fine. Now i found the Badboy its TSM..Thanks for your Time :)
I can't find this option anywhere... maybe I'm just being stupid, but can you direct me to where I can turn off sort on open?
hi you add on is broken when new items go into the back it glitches out and doesn't show the added item you have to do a /reload to get it to work again but it just keeps breaking over and over and it is also causing other blizzard ui problems please fix these issues i've used this add on for years and would hate to have to switch to another add on because i like the features this add on has
i havent seen that happen, not saying it doesnt, but i dont know where to start looking for its cause
i dont see how it could possibly cause issues with the ui, youd have to clarify what you mean if you want me to look into it
btw, if you want to switch to another addon i dont have a problem with that
Is there a way to configure what mount it randoms when you have a button assigned to mount? I would like it to randomly mount one of my favourites.
its easier if you have one of hte bar mods but you can open the mount window and click on the main icon to get the same menu structure, just tick (or disable) the mounts you want it to random through (or never use)
if you only pick a single mount thats all that will ever get called
I can't see how this is done. Can you give me idiot proof instructions?
Is there any way to disable this for my bank?
