ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Hi Folks
How can I have my items, as in the screenshot, when I restack, fill from the bottom up, i.e. reverse mode?
//mods.curse.com/addons/wow/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">http://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/">Screenshot
screenshot link doesnt work so not sure but my restack code doesnt care about where things come from or end up so you would have to change the restack option to use the blizzard cleanup code instead, and then set the reverse mode option for that
right click on the restack icon to set the restack type and right click on a bag icon to see the cleanup options
I recently changed the name of my guild and both the old name and the new are showing up when I hover over an item. Is there a way to remove the old name? I've searched through the various helpers and the options and can't seem to find anything.

open the vault window, follow the instructions in the above link
Is there a way to set up a rule which checks if an item in my bags is either already on the auction house (my own auctions ofc) or in a specific tab in my guild bank?
no, rules collect items and you can assign a rule to a bar
the item tooltip can be made to show if other locations/characters/vaults have the same item
Thanks for your reply!
The thing is that I sell transmog items and I don't want to double post an item on the AH so I want to put all the duplicates in a specific guild tab. Ofc I can check every item's tooltip manually but this takes a huge amount of time. So there's no way to let your Addon check it's own tooltip info so it puts all items that are already on the AH in one bar? This would save me so much time.
theoretically its possible to write code to look for a matching item id thats in the AH location but it would be a fairly intensive rule as it would constantly compare items.
i wrote the rule code so people could write their own rule functions and just add them in so if youre capable of writing lua code you could write it yourself.
Thanks for the Legion version work. I love this addon. Definitely the best and most advanced and most smart addon for bagging in the history of the game.
Hey, normally I had Bagnon installed which displayed whether I had an item in the bank and void storage aswell, so I could easily see if I could sell it. Is there a similar thing in this mod so I don't have to do that manually?
It tracks everything from bank to void Storage and also other Characters.
It is shown beneath the Item tooltip text in orange.
check the options under display > tooltip
item counts for other toons are displayed via the tooltip and you can set which other toons are displayed (just you, faction, realm, all)
you can also use the search window (not the search bar)
Thank you both very much, gonna use your addon from now on
Any way to have character-custom groups?
Lets say i use a 2h sword on my warrior in the "pvp" group. When i play my paladin, i dont want it to use that group, because my paladin wants to just vendor it, and has his own pvp item set. Can i have an item assigned to a specific group for a specific character?
This is especially annoying when you (like me) have 10+ characters, and so pretty much every single piece of content-relevant gear is part of some group - so inventory gets more and more cluttered, since you have to manually check items inside sorting groups, and that kind of defeats the whole purpose of those groups.
Could we have option of (1. Assign item X to account group Y) - which would just assign it to a global group like it does by default - or (2. Assign item X to character group Z) - which would assign it to group Z for that character only, while keeping its current group for all other characters?
simplest method is to use a wardrobe addon (or the blizzard one) to create equipment sets and use a rule - outfit( ) - instead of a category. that way the rule would pick up what items the current character has in its equipment sets (which would change for each character)
for the mod to do it right now youd have to use different profiles, which means setting it up multiple times which you wont want to do.
i would have to recode the way the mod works to get the categories to work per character instead of per profile
a 3.06 Legion (or PTR) beta version is now available for download if you want to test it out
please note that there are enough code changes in Legion to make it non usable on the live servers and it will spit out errors if you try to run it there but as the data format hasnt changed you can just roll back to 3.05.12 and youll be fine.
Couldn't get the addon to work.
I first tried to copy my old folder over so I keep all my groups.
when copying the Beta version over that, I still got the bags not a all in one Inventory.
So I tried again without my WoD settings but I had the same Issue.

Running the WoD version shows the Ark Inventory window but nothing in it and Bags are marked with Error.
Hope this helps you a bit
Edit: I am on a Beta server not on the PTR
sorry, updated an internal lib and forgot to add the files back into curse svn. should be fixed now (3.06.01)
Works fine now, until I found out there is a Beta Version of Shadowed Unit Frames.
When I logged in with SuF
I could not use any items in my inventory.
Move yes
Use no
And I got this error
1x ArkInventory\ArkInventoryConfig.lua:54: attempt to index field 'CONST' (a nil value)
And again I got the whol error if needed.
sounds like SuF is screwing something up, i can use items without any issues.
not sure about that error as line 54 is just local p = ""
do you get that only with SuF loaded?
