ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
well its working perfectly fine with the guild bank for me so youll need to specificy what the actual error is
It says it is up-to-date in curse client but still has MAJOR errors. Guild bank tab 1 will not show at all. This has been a staple add-on for me for years. Please fix it.
Since 6.2, inventory totals are not available for designs, formulas (except blue, i.e. executioner), plans, recipes, and schematics. Everything else seems to be as usual. If auctions such as those listed above are canceled, the tool tips are there when in bags/bank/guild bank, but as soon as they're relisted, no tool tips at all anywhere. Of course, if I've missed something, please feel free to correct me. Excellent add-on otherwise. Thanks.
When is the 6.2 version coming out?
Anyone else getting probs displaying guild bank tabs
i cant see my last tab for some reason
I figured it out. The Bars background doesnt appear to work in the beta version. Even though i have it set to black it shows as parchment which is my window setting. Changing the colour does not seem to work.
Also noticed that some items do not show a item count. Unidentified gear, unidentified armor/weapon enhancements from the garrison as examples. The item count can also remain static. I was collecting timber & the item count did not change until i moved the timber in my bag to another slot.
You might know these bits already but if not hopefully this helps.
Tooltip still showing old guild gold amounts data even after i erase the data of the guild, not showing other items just the gold?
yep, it does that, not really sure why it does it but you can blame blizzard as its their code, i just call it from a single api function. just refresh after doing it
i've gotten my own restack code back into a good place and will allow you to chose between the blizzard or my own code but even mine will rearrange the items, just not as drastically.
Hi,
i've got a problem with arkinventory lately. i always used the cleanup button to put all craftmats in the bank and consolidate stacks, but now it rearranges my whole inventory :(

thx, but it still messes up my placement of items in the bags :)
the rarity border not fading is the result from fixing the new item glow screwing up the seach result fading (thats what i thought you meant by search issue).
im not sure what that is. i know i started playing with the background/border settings flowing down from frame > bar > item but it shoudnt have impacted the slots themselves unless youve picked a transparent background for them and the frame background is now coming through? does a ui reload fix it?
Ahh got you. Its was actually the beta that was not fading the item rarity border colours & the parchment background now showing behind the item slots which it didnt do before that was causing my issues. I'll be more careful next time which version i install for more accurate feedback.
Thanks for the response Arkayenro.
Removed my original post as i realised i had the wrong version installed.
However, did the search fix on new bag items not make this release? (Post 5459 & 5464)
Seems to still happen unless there is an option i need to enable/disable.
it was fixed in 3.05.01 beta 1, but its a beta
should sort in priority order next release
i was going to allow sorting at one point early on but it wasnt as easy as i thought i would be so never got around to making it work
Request: have this sort properly:
Its not a HUGE gamebreaking deal, but it would be awesome if the list sorted numerically by priority or Rule Number (It would be even better if it did it Alphabetically by Rule Name -- i'm guessing that's what was originally intended but somehow the Rule number got mixed in with the rule name, and now its all sorting by that)

Anyways thanks for all the hard work on this addon... i love it! Can't play without it! Expect a donation as a measure of my appreciation!
Edit: Also, just a heads up, it seems that this sort function is also inop:
Is it possible to create a search shortcut like BOE for all the bind on equip items to be highlighted instead of just a text search?
Thanks. is it possible to have it as an enhancement request?
You could make a rule for BoEs and assigne the rule to its own bar:
The rule would be pretty simple:
tooltip( "Binds when equipped" ) and type( "Armor", "Weapon" ) and not soulbound( "yes" )
When you dont need it, just disable the rule by opening the rules list and shift-click the rule you want to toggle. I know this isnt the exact method that you were looking for, but it is a pretty quick way to isolate boes in your bag.
at this point no
