ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I have a problem with the text on items in bags, eg ilvl and item count.
The first time I open ArkInventory when logging into a character, everything shows up fine. But when I close the bags and open them again, all item counts etc. disappear. This is frustrating since it means I can't see item count for stacks in a glance, I have to mouseover to see it in the tooltip.
Any fixes?
is there a toggle reagent bank button?
i know i can hide it, but it seems like an awful lot of clicks to show it again, then hide it again...
Is there a way to make items like food that only stack to 20x be grouped together to a single slot?
no, closest you can get is hiding the extra stacks (right clicking hte refresh icon will allow you to toggle hidden items so you can see them when needed)
at the code level i cannot differentiate between bank and reagent bank so right clicking an item in your bag will try to put it into the bank, never the reagent bank.
you have to move the items manually into one of the reagent bank slots or use the cleanup button.
if you just want to despot all reagents you can right click on the cleanup button and theres an option there to do that
Hi, can U help me?
I don't find the button to clear my bags into component bank, is there one?
More of that, when I right-clic to a component, it goes directly in my bank, and not in my component bank.
If someone can help me, i'll thank him a thousand times :p
(N.B.: I beg your pardon for my english, i'm french ^^' )
Two features / options I would LOVE to be added:
-Let us choose the size of a item slot without using crappy addon scale which complitely destroy pixel perfect settings.
-Let us disable the "global" background which is added behind all define groups.
I've made a "hacked" version which kind of work with my settings if you want to get a look:

Thanks for your work and your time.
sorry, its always going to be a percentage as fixed numbers only ever work when the scale for every object is at 100%, as soon as you move off that its no longer the number you enter
i'm not sure i understand this one, the main window and bar background colours have an alpha level available, if you dont want a background at all then just slide it down to completely transparent
I dont have memory issues, Im just OCD about this kind of stuff. Seems like 16MB for a couple of configuration strings/values is overkill. I dont have that many characters either.
Why does ArkInventory consume 16Mb of memory? Thats 25% total of the addon memory in use, 2x the 2nd ranked addon for memory consumption (auctioneer, which needs to keep in memory the list of the scanned AH).
Why/How does ArkInventory need so much memory?
ai uses what it needs to to store all of your characters items in memory, plus what it needs for the layout of the windows, why are you worrying about 16mb? unless your having memory issues in game then dont worry about it
config > settings > location > items > empty slots > first only
Is there a way to consolidate my empty bag slots?
is there an eta on the pet bugs fix
what pet bug?
How do i scale this up or down.
Type "/arkinventory config", click "Settings", choose the tab associated with the bag you wish to scale, click "Window" and you will see a "Scale" slider allowing adjustments from 40% to 200%.
Enjoy!
The bar names can be disabled for each bag. Go to "Settings", choose "Bank", expand "Bars" click on "Name" and check "Show". I believe for the Bank bags they are disabled by default whereas they are enabled by default for your Bags.
Hello,
The bar names for the bank do not display. I have no problem with them in my bags. Just in the bank. (I did not view guild bank)
Any ideas what could be the problem?
I love this addon, but I wish it would give an option to make all those bag icons do something. The all inventory in one window mode is ok, but I would love a setup where I could setup Ark type groups, but there would be different windows bound to each of the bag icons. So I could have for instance my normal backpack bring up the uncategories stuff. Then I could have a bag that brings up all my crafting stuff, then a bag for consumables (food, potions, elixters, flasks, etc), a bag for swap gear, and then a bag for misc stuff (hearth stone, gnomish army knife, guild banners, etc etc). Inside each of these I could still lay stuff out using the same methods Ark using now. For instance in the bag I setup for consumables I could organize food seperate from flasks and elixers, and then potions somewhere else. Or the crafting bag could keep cloth seperate from leather, just like Ark does now.
