ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
no. deposit to reagent tab is blizzard controlled
I frequently use the function to filter the items by typing in a search text. Since WoD, ArkInventory displays more items than those that are fitting to the text (German client). For example, if I type in "schwarzwasser" to filter for the fish, also "Magische Erde", "Magisches Feuer", "Echtstahlbarren" and "Taladitkristall" are highlighted. That makes it harder to spot the item I actually need.
its a pure name search so im not sure how it would search on anything else
I have the same problem. It seams a bit random what it filters or not.
I hoped to find the solution here.
Sometimes, even some items are faded to dark WITHOUT entering a search term. I made a screenshot of this: http://imageshack.com/a/img661/3844/nJlzUR.jpg (the mouse over hint is from the dark-faded Taladitkristall in the bottom right corner).

The highlighted green item in the middle is called "Versteifte Rüstungsverbesserung". This time, the "Magische Erde" etc. that I mentioned in my posting is not highlighted, so it seems to be random.
its the new items option (the last one), it doesnt seem to have beem translated since item age was put back in
if you want to translate the following to german i'll update the file for next release
L["CONFIG_SETTINGS_ITEMS_AGE"] = "Item Age"
L["CONFIG_SETTINGS_ITEMS_AGE_SHOW_TEXT"] = "toggles the display of the item age text"
L["CONFIG_SETTINGS_ITEMS_AGE_COLOUR_TEXT"] = "sets the colour of the item age text"
L["CONFIG_SETTINGS_ITEMS_AGE_CUTOFF"] = "Cutoff (minutes)"
L["CONFIG_SETTINGS_ITEMS_AGE_CUTOFF_TEXT"] = "display the items age if they are less than this value. use 0 to always display the age"
i made a screenshot of the german config tab. There is no item age option. The Tab is missing.
http://pl.vc/4mv44
L["CONFIG_SETTINGS_ITEMS_AGE"] = "Item-Alter"
L["CONFIG_SETTINGS_ITEMS_AGE_SHOW_TEXT"] = "Ein/Aus der Item-Alter-Funktion"
L["CONFIG_SETTINGS_ITEMS_AGE_COLOUR_TEXT"] = "verändert die Farbe der Item-Alter-Anzeige"
Thanks for your answer. This option was not available with the german wow-client. I just switched my language to english. After that i was able to disable the item-age-display.
odd, the config doesnt have different options for different languages (unless someone translated something wrong)
Hey, where can i disable the Item-Age display of my bag? Cant find it :(
from my Config file..
config > settings > location > items > item age > show
in the blizzard options under controls check the "reverse clean up bags" and "loot to leftmost bag" options
Is there a way top make AI sort the bags the way it was in MoP? Right now the sorting doesnot make sense to me. The middle bag it auto empties and then throws all new loot in the right bag, instad of my backpack.
ITem age overlaps item level. Make either of them movable? Anchored to top/bottom of the item icon?
Or even better - just like unusable items can be tinted red, how about adding some color/border/glow efefect to new items instead of cluttering the item icon with item age text?
next version will have item age be topleft unless you also have item level on, then it will move to center
you know item age can be turned off if you dont want it? plus the default new item glow/pulse is there (albeit its not entirely noticeable at times)
Oh but I do want the item age:) Nice that the age position will be adjusting itself. Most comfortable would be the glow though, which is easier to spot for those like me, with seeing problems, because now it indeed is only visible when I intentionally look at the bags long enough:) Being able to scale it to high glow/pulse would probably be too much to ask:)
Thanks for your work!
i seems to have forgotten to tag the previous .17 version as a release - anyway, .18 is released
