ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
the original tooltip for caged battlepets is actually replaced to show a custom one that looks like a normal battlepet tooltip - go into edit mode and check the debug information for one of them to see whats its classed under
Hey there,
thx for the great addon, i've been using arkinv for a while now ;)
i wanted to create a rule with caged battle pets, but i'dont know how, tt() isn't working. is there proper way to make a rule? have been searching for a solution, would be nice, if someone has the clue =)
TIA
Hey Arkayenro,
Been looking into arkinventory and am liking it a lot so far. One question though: there are other bag addons that have a section for newly looted items. Looked at the documentaion for the addon and can't seem to find anywhere that states how to do that. Is this possible?
no, all youll get is the white glow effect (if enabled) on new items, they arent classified into a separate category
ark is always first because its the frist mod loaded (alphabetically) - have a look in the wiki for the taint stuff, set it to level 2 and see if you can work your way back, otherwise email me a copy and i'll try and figure out which mod is causing the taint.
With no config changes whatsoever, it stopped as soon as I hit 100 and then tried again.
Maybe it didn't have a handler for "You can't use that untill 100, dummy" or something.
Heya Ark.
Was trying to apply an enchanting illusion in my garrison, got the following. It also randomly did it with other addons, but always Ark first.

Hey, using your addon for years - cannot imagine playing wow without it honestly. Thank you so much for making and especially maintaining it all those years!
I have an issue with the reagent bank. I have one bank bar for 'System-Reagents' and for 'Emtpy-Reagents'. The problem is, that I would then expect ArkInv to put everything from the reagents bank into this bar - but it does not. It only shows the empty slots and the rest is in bar1. Bar1 does not have anything enabled for it beside 'system-default'. Why does it not work as I expect?
Thank you
You have options to show bags1-9 in a bar. Could you also add an option for the reagent bag? This way it would force all of those items into the bar I want without having to hassle with tooltips and stuff.
hardly any items are actually classified as that, if you want all the stuff that would go into the reagent bank you'd probably need a tooltip rule to pickup the Crafting Material (the line in blue)
Is there a problem with the item age? I can activate it in the options and enter cutoff minutes, but it's not showing up. Also the clear button is greyed out. Anyone else having this issue?
please fix this addon keeps freezing everyime i open the frame
please lodge a ticket with some more information in it as im not getting the issue so cannot troubleshoot it
have you disabled every other mod and tested arkinventory by itself? does it still freeze then?
turn on edit mode and click on the item, go down to debug and it will show all the item info
is there a simple way to determine the type/subtype of an item? I don't see any "System" catagory for fish.
its the first point in the https://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/wiki/FAQ
Just curious if ArkInventory is working on support for the Reagent Bank Tab and support for the "Deposit all Reagents" button in the default UI. I couldn't find it in Ark and It's bothersom to disable ark so i can deposit reagents with a one button click.
I dug Deeper in your comments (your comments are much more active on this mod than many other mod developers. kudos!) and found the Regeant bank tab support. For those who may ahve the same questions (maybe add the reagent bit to your addon descriiption? It's kind of obscure (i never have bag changer active for instance, and would never have found this without reading your comments):
Reagent banktab is located in your ArkinventoryBankui. you can see it by turning on bag changer (treasure chest icon in the top right of arkinventoryui). you can then hover over your bank bags and see "Reagent Bank". Right Click the bag and click deposit all Reagents.
/facepalm
I just logged in to leave this comment. I used Arkinventory months ago and now started playing again and I really dislike the way bags are being handled. Now suddenly my main bag is all over the show. I did not want to do this but Ill have to look for an alternative :(
