ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
turn on edit mode and click on the item, go down to debug and it will show all the item info
is there a simple way to determine the type/subtype of an item? I don't see any "System" catagory for fish.

Just curious if ArkInventory is working on support for the Reagent Bank Tab and support for the "Deposit all Reagents" button in the default UI. I couldn't find it in Ark and It's bothersom to disable ark so i can deposit reagents with a one button click.
I dug Deeper in your comments (your comments are much more active on this mod than many other mod developers. kudos!) and found the Regeant bank tab support. For those who may ahve the same questions (maybe add the reagent bit to your addon descriiption? It's kind of obscure (i never have bag changer active for instance, and would never have found this without reading your comments):
Reagent banktab is located in your ArkinventoryBankui. you can see it by turning on bag changer (treasure chest icon in the top right of arkinventoryui). you can then hover over your bank bags and see "Reagent Bank". Right Click the bag and click deposit all Reagents.
/facepalm
I just logged in to leave this comment. I used Arkinventory months ago and now started playing again and I really dislike the way bags are being handled. Now suddenly my main bag is all over the show. I did not want to do this but Ill have to look for an alternative :(
feel free to use any mod you like, im not overly fussed if people dont use arkinventory
if you do want some help though then feel free to create a ticket but please put in more details than "all over the shop" (screenshots are helpful for these type of issues)
I dident mean it that way Ark. Well originally the bags in AI was that your main bag was on the left, and when you picked up new loot, it would be at the top of AI. Now it is automatically sorting and putting loot all over the show. I was able, after Googling, I found out how to take of auto sorting. Is there a way to make it the way it was on my side? Would still rather choose to use Arkinventory.
Answering to you guys (#5182) I'm willing to try the alpha version, but I can't find the download link here on Curse.
If you give me the link, I'll try it out see if it solve the overlapping issue.
there'll be a release version out as soon as it gets packaged. next time, the "Project Site" link near the top is what you want, then the files tab
Ah that was painless. Thanks.
the bag changer icon is in the title bar, the one that looks like a green chest
I've hidden all the bag-icons on one of my characters. How do I make them show again?
I'm getting a lot of 'WARNING> aborted scan of bag [2] in location 1 [bag] type is unknown' messages when I log into a character. Also the bag icons in the Bag Changer are blank when the first time open the bags. The warning message don't come up when I do a /reload and the bag icons are there when I open the bags a second time.
I consider these issues purely cosmetic, but still annoying, as they come up every time and on all my characters.
i left the warnings in in case something went weird and they looped - it wont show them now until after the translations are loaded - if you see them then something will be wrong
Pre-made as in a guild mate set up their ArkInventory gave their .lua file me so all I needed to do is drop it in my Save Variables folder and I have all of his configurations
Any idea when "Remove Bars" will work? The bug was logged back May 2013 (ID# 610)
https://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/issues/detail?id=610
I'm using a premade configuration and it has 90 bars in it, so when I go to edit it the bag window is enormous.
there are no premade configurations so im not sure what you mean by that.
the top two rows in edit mode cannot be removed, they are there to make it possible to add items to rows that dont exist yet.
you may want to consider setting the maximum height to whatever resolution your screen is, that way when you go into edit mode it will scroll instead of going off screen
incredibly weird error, how can it not find the PET global variable, unless some other mod has erased it (which would be rather stupid thing to do)
i dont normally use addon loader myself, but if i do enable it then arkinventory loads fine.
try this - disable arkinventory and load into the game, then type in /run print(PET) and see if it prints Pets or nil
