ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
* changed - maximum container frame height increased to 2000
* changed - default container height set to 2000
This do not work in bank tab. still got scrolling bar and the bottom line is like in the picture someone linked earlier http://imgur.com/Xueg7Gd
change the height value, all i can think is you already had some odd value in there from a previous version
cleanup is blizzard code, i have no control over it at all - there are options under interface > controls > reverse cleanup bags (you probably want to turn that off)
Much thanks! Hitting the donate button now.
Thanks for the previous help, everything is looking great!
When you press the clean-up button, it places everything into as few bags as possible. In my bank, it fills up the originla bank-slot first and moves from left to right, filling up those bags as it goes.
However, in my "Bags" window, it fills up the right-most bag first and then moves left. I'd kind of prefer that it filled up the backpack first and moved left to right like the bank does. I'm betting this is something obvious in the settings or the control but I can't find it, and no where in the Wiki does it talk about settinig options for "clean up."
Hello, sorry for my imperfect English...
First I want to thank you for your brillant work on this addon. Really don't know how I could "live" without it!
Now, my question:When trying to add raw materials to the bank (by right-clicking from my bags/inventory) I was expecting it going automatically to the new (buyable) storage container/tab for raw materials. But somehow this is not possible.
Unless, I disable the ArkInventory surface (via Settings, Usage, unchecking "hide Blizz Interface") and select the tab by hand.
Is there a way to show the raw material stroage tab separately? Or a way to make the mats going directly to the intended tab/container?
Or is it, that I missed something or am having just inconvenient settings?
Many thanks in advance for infos/tips!
Hey, thanks Sindalee for your idea/comment. Tried that out and yes, there is that option. I must have missed it, as I usually don't let ArkInventory show the bags/containers.
What I did now is a section/category with showing bag n° 9 (which is the reagent container) and named it as such.
So when by right-clicking reagents from the inventory bags, they go to one of the first 8 bank containers. Then, I can move them by hand to the intended reagent container. This might be helpful if you do not want to deposit all mats from your bags in the bank. Only drawback: it works only if the bank is NOT full ;)
right click the reagent bag in the bank and there's an option to deposit all reagents. this will remove all applicable items from your bags into reagent bag. believe it's this way with vanilla bank also.
I basically agree with dIggl3r. I prefer to have a huge inventory screen (if needed) instead of scrolling up/down.
I "fixed" this up by setting the maximum window height to 800 (the huge gap dissapeared with a reload), but it would be nice to have a setting to switch off and on this new feature. Not saying I hate it, only that IMHO it shouldn't be mandatory, I think.
Other than that, thank you for your great addon. :-)
since todays update, my inventory looks like this on all chars:
http://imgur.com/Xueg7Gd
went back to normal after i downgraded to ArkInventory-3.04.09
edit; i just see that this might be an intentional change...i go check my setings :)
i added scrolling (its in the version history) to save screen real estate, you can either scroll the items (mousewheel or the scrollbar) or make the window higher
Possible to remove the huuuuuge cap between the scrolling area and the bottom text (bag space, gold)
sorry, i didnt see the gap before. its not supposed to be there, can you turn the bag changer on and off and see if it goes away? and try moving the window
you can also try creating a brand new profile and swap to that, see if it still displays with the gap or not
That did not help, highly doubt new profile would also do the job?
How can we disable the scrolling bars? I'm also having issues like the other users, where I have a massive gap at the top.
It's not a bad idea, but the main reason I opted for Arkinventory is to see everything in my bags, into one big bag. I much prefer to see everything without having to scroll, and would scale down a bit to "save screen real estate".
My two cents.
i'll reset the default to 2000 which should make it the same as it was before (no scrolling) and people can lower it they want to scroll
if youve already moved if off the default of 400 then youll have to push it up to 2000 manually
I actually use SpartanUI, not ElvUI, so the problem may lie there. I'll email you the taint log, though. Thanks very much.
Hi there. I didn't see this issue reported, so maybe it's just me (or I spaced and missed it). I'm getting an error when I right-click my hunter-pet portrait and select "Dismiss." Any ideas, or am I just doing something amazingly wrong? Error is below:

standard taint problem, a lot of developers use the ace3 libraries, if another mod taints something then that taint spreads through the libraires and taints all the other mods - ai being the first to load the shared libraries gets blamed in the ui.
its usually the same old issue with a uidropdown causing it - ai doesnt use any of those so i know this one isnt from ai. you have to turn taint logging on (theres instructions in the FAQ link) and repeat whatever you did before until you get the blocked message, the determine from the taint log which mod caused the initial taint and ask them to try and fix it.
