ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
forgot about hte backpack (i probably missed hte bank as well), i'll add that in. not sure about the values not sticking, i'll look into that as well
you have to click on the refresh icon after a cleanup to bring it all back - i'll probably make that automatic to stop this sort of thing
Ran into an issue where the bag was not updating itself after a cleanup. For example, I would choose Cleanup to fix some stacks, the bags would fix the stacks, but display the wrong information on tooltip. Such as: I have two stacks of the same flasks, both are not maxed. I use cleanup, the stacks remain the same, but on mouseover, one of the stacks will list something different from my bags, but visually nothing has changed.
Closing the bags and reopening them does not fix it. I didn't try reloading the UI, but I did close the game and reload it and everything was as it should be.
I use 42 custom rules along with 33 presets. So the bags are heavily customized. I don't think that was the problem, but I thought I would throw it in there anyway.
I love Arcinventory, but resently i have problems with the search function in my bags.
When i type a part of the stuff i need eq SEED then i see some or more stuff but nothing to do with the sentence i give in like it show ore, or cloth or armor or weapon but not showing stuff with seed in the name.
Is that in my WOW a problem or with everyone i put the part of the stuff in the search bar not the search option on top that works greet on the chars like always
IDK if the answer was for me but refresh was indeed the answer to my problem, so my problem solved not a program problem :-)
Thanks! Works great.
But as I got to playing around with it a bit more I realized just how much better I could make the display. I'm kind of OCD that way, I guess. But, for people like me, fixing it is as fun as the game itself. BTW, I didn't see it immediately and I'm probably asking something in the FAQ (nope, just checked), but can you hide the empy cells in your bank?
in the config under settings > display change the width
you can minimise the number of empty slots (config > settings > items > empty slots > first empty)
or can you hide a particular type by assigning that category to a bar, then hiding that category (downside is that youll never see them)
Pretty minor, but with the new reagents slot in the bank, the size of my ArkInventory window is now larger than the screen display. Mostly it's just too much vertical information. Most of the lower row categories are arranged in a vertical configuration, probably due to the huge size of the empty or general slots to the right. My question is: How could I make the window more horizontal? I assume that if I took the HUGE window one (empty or general) and spread it out more horizontally the rest of the categories would fit in better, but I don't know how to do that. I apologize in advance if this is something obvious I'm missing, but I checked tghe FAQ and the comments and nothing appeared helpful. Again, this is relatively minor, as al it takes is to mouse-grab and drag some of it off-screen at the top or bottom as needed, but it's still kind of annoying. Thanks!
You can do that in Config => Parameters => Select bank tab => Groups and assign more groups per lines
Just wondering if Item Age is broken in the current release? I have double checked to make sure it is still enabled in the options, but no longer seem to see the Item Age on any items in my bags ever since the updates for the WoD pre-patch. Trying to figure out if this is an known issue, or just something affecting me.
it might have been removed with blizzard adding hteir own, but it does look like i left a lot of the code in there so i'll look at puttinghte display back as well if possible
Is there some way to separate the reagent tab from the rest of the bank stuff?
I'm having a hard time making sure that reagents go in the reagent bag
probably not
Are you going to make a tab for the reagent bank like the default Blizzard bank?
cancel any forms then /run ArkInventory.LDB.Mounts:OnClick( )
this may also work on its own; /run ARKINV_MountToggle:OnClick( ) (cant check as i dont have the game with me)
Question...
Is a macro command for executing ArkInventory's summon mount command? I know it can be bound to a key, but I want to put it in a macro and then add it to an OPie ring.
/AI TRACK [ITEM LINK]
it's a toggle, you just run the same command to remove the item
Can someone please explain how the "Tracking Item" LDB addon works? I've been trying to figure out how to add an item in ArkInventory to this menu and it's just not at all clear how this is done. I think by default it is set to track Soul Shards or something like that. You can remove that item from the menu, but I don't see a way to add another item in its place. Please explain this feature of ArkInventory.
bags didnt change, guild bank didnt change, void storage now has to two tabs (try just leaving that disabled and see if it still loads)
