ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
thx ;-)
Found the issue... the border style had a null value in it (wasn't set to 'None' it had nothing in there at all).
Have set a style and it's working now. Thanks for your help.
Hi,
Minor issue, the rarity colours are not showing. They are showing elsewhere in game, e.g. charater gear, loot windows wtc.
Have tried with the colour switch in the config in both the on and off state.
working for me.
under config > settings > location > items > border > rarity coloured border is enabled and the cutoff is set to common or uncommon?
also check config > controls > location > settings, make sure whatever is set there is the location you are changing under settings
Is there anyway to enable the tooltip function without changing the way the bags look?
im not sure what you mean, the tooltips arent linked to the bags in any way
Sorry, that was unclear. I'm looking to leave the bags looking like the stock UI, but keep as many of the features that are baked into the addon. The tooltip portion is exactly what I've been looking for and the search/swap character functions are very handy.
I've been unable to find any options in shutting off the way the addon changes the how the bags are displayed short of unchecking enable, but when I do that the tooltips no longer show.
EDIT - Got your second reply and I feel foolish for not finding that, thank you very much. Having the ability now to open the custom sorted one via keybind and the default blizzard UI when I'm feeling afraid of change just made my night. Thank you again, especially for the crazy fast response.
in the config under controls, disable override for all locations - the default blizzad interface will display instead and arkinventory will just run in the background
your other option is to leave it enabled and place each bag in its own bar (1-5), set the pars per row row to 2, set the sort to bag/slot, it should then look like all the default bags are open at once and mirror them fairly closely (the last one will go across two spaces)
ok thx for reply

bulkmail addon is broken, talk to the author.
nothing to do with ai, just we share the same ace3 libraries so those are mentioned
Not compatible with Bulk Mail, it keeps spamming error message
and the error message was?
were you using 3.04.07?
Whilst on the Eye of Eternity platform in the Dragon Soul raid ArkInventory spams me with:
I love the Empty Slots, First Only option; this has made my inventory much more condensed.
Can you also please add the empty count to the first only button? I think it would be useful when dealing with multiple bag types, but mostly i want to get rid of the status bar. Thank you
So I understand the new cleanup option, but I was wondering if we coudl still have and otion to just do the re-stack like before. I would like it to restaack items to new stack limits and to move items to a crafting specific bag or to the new reagent tab, but NOT move all my stuff to the bottom of my bags and consolidate space, it is so annoying when U have things layed out where I watn them.
will be in the next version
i have no idea what to look for in there
Update: This might be an ELVUI issue - I downloaded TUKUI by the same developers and I am able to load the game.
