ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
the main menu is accessed from the icon in the top left corner of the location window, try that one
also i've changed the menus around a bit and that line number dosnt match any more, it possibly came from the debug submenu but im not sure (theres a new wod version if you want to try that)
There was nothing to be found at all in the live version of the addon. The latest release for WoD had no such option either.
Clicking the top left bag icon gives me: Config, Refresh, Reload, Cleanup, Search, Rules, Edit Mode, Show Hidden, none of which get me to mounts.
Right clicking on the glasses icon and choosing mounts, then right clicking on the mount gets me Set favorite or, if already a favorite (presumably on my pet window) gets Remove favorite. That's it.
Going to the config menu in the Interface option, I can find mounts under the LDB section but clicking on any of the names gets me nothing. Settings and Controls each have a Mount tab but that's only concerned with the appearance of the mount window.
I can't find anything, anywhere that would give me the option to ignore a mount or a mount type. Maybe it got left off in the latest build?
its in the main menu of the mount location (the pet location has its own variant as well)
I disabled the tooltip option to show "Item counts and Gold amount", because I'm already using another addon to display item counts in item tooltips, and I noticed that disabling this option also disables the LDB money tooltip, which I actually use a lot. Could you maybe seperate these two settings?
in live or wod? i havent tried pet battles in wod yet but i know i recoded the pet battle stuff so i've probably missed something in there, i'll take a look tonight when i get home
On live. Yesterday I was farming a ruby sapling in eversong woods. I had the common version and was farming a rare version. Everytime I was fighting a common version, it told me in chat, that I didnt own the pet. It has happend for some other pets too. I dont know if you are using and old version of the petjournal.lua.
Arkinventory keeps telling me, that I donw own the battlepet I am fighting, even when its already in my petjournal and arkinventory tooltip count also have the pet listed. It happens almost no matter what pet I fight.
In live, I also have this problem. ArkInventory always tells me in chat that I don't own this pet, but not for every pet, I think only the new pets from timeless isle, but not 100% sure about that.
I think everybody who can live with:
can also live with:
;)
And for the class-specific coloring: I can't find this option on live-version. Can you please help me out? Tell me where it is ^^
config > display > tooltips > general > colour
Thx :D
I use ArkInventory since I started playing WoW and I'm absolutely loving it. But there is one thing I would like to see (maybe it's already there but I can't find it? ^^):
The tooltip counts look like this:
But what I would prefer is:
And the names colored in the color of their class. Is this already possible?
i could posibly add an option to build the tooltip like that but its going to end up very wide
yes, there shoul dbe an option in the config under tooltips to use class colours
Greets!
I'm so glad to have this addon for WoD! I just can't live without it.
Here's an interesting thing you might want to look into. When I sort my bank, all the crafting mats go back to the regular bags instead of the new resources bank bag. Even if I remove all rules concerning mats, they still won't go in there. Did I miss something? I'm wondering how to get it to prefer that bag and, if possible, find a way to sort according to type inside that one bag. Prolly can't do the latter but I'll settle for not having them all pop back into the regular bags when I sort.
Just thought I'd let you know. Keep up the good work!
its there, it just defaults to being off
every bag has cleanup options
not 100% sure (i might have removed that capability) but i think you can allocate an entire bag to a bar, if so then you can set the sorting on that one bar to be how you want
I've noticed that the LDB addons for pets and mounts don't show the correct icon. For my pets, I'm getting what appears to be a dice icon. And there is no text. Same with mounts. It's just an icon.
there are two die icons, one for all random (blue i think) and one for selected random (brown i think)
the only time you will get an actual mount icon is when you select a single mount from the list
the LDB icons also may not update until you zone
Anyone else having issues with item counts disappearing? The bag functions normally but the numbers on items stop displaying completely until i do a /reloadui.
Hey Arkayenro.
I love this mod and cannot play WoW without it. The default Blizz UI bags dont do it for me. I was just wondering on the progress for WoD with all the UI changed to bags, is this wonderfully useful addon going to get the update it deserves?
I have beta access and would love to offer to test out any alphas you might be working on, when addons are unlocked on the beta of course.
Thank you again for all your efforts with keeping this addon going, it is the best bag mod.
