ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
This is already avaliable via the rule option. All my bags are sorted by ilvl and i have over 100 rules written. my ore, stone, and bars go in 3 diffrent bags, my recipies sort by lvl and i have a bag for every proffesion, all my armor is sorted in their own bags by type, plus a bag for armor tokens and another for all timeless. even rep tokens, i could go on forever. only downside to this is i have 2 7tab guild banks and 2 accounts so it slowly starts using alot of memory way more than recount.
first create a custom sorting method... right click the upper left bagicon when a bag is open, click config and go to sorting methods. create a new one by typing in the bar that you will see. for i lvl i chose item stat lvl 1st then, type and subtype then name.
now you can manually apply it to any bag you want by r clicking buti did this before i created any custom bags or profiles and set it to my default.
to do that same config menu go to settings you will see many tabs they all have default sorting, here you can change it to ilvl default for your bags guild and bank, plus more if you wanted to.
ok now to sort i have over 25 rules just on armor so ill just give an example. this is non soulbound cloth armor with a rating of un common to epic.
type( "armor" ) and subtype( "cloth" ) and not sb() and quality( 2,3,4 )
spaces, spelling, and brackets have to be exact or it will not work
i also have sorting for my soulbound gear. i created all my rules then for instance on my hunter who doesnt DE i have 1 bag for sb mail and i have a vendor bag and i apply the other sb armor types to that bag. on my enchanter i have the other types she doesnt wear applied to a de bag.
my timeless, armor token rules are diffrent i made rules that search tooltips for particular words, plus other conditions
also rules affect the items across the board for example i have 3 rules for panderian veggies, meats and fish. in my guild bank. they go into 3 seperate bags but on my toons bag i just have a cooking bag. if i just apply trade goods cooking all cooking items will go in the bag except those panderian ones. i would need to also apply those 3 rules to my general cooking bag.
i also do all this before i make any profiles to one universal default one then i individualy tweak them per toon it saves alot of time
Must have can't live without mod. Thank you for all your hard work.
its normal, i cant duplicate that fetaure as im using a standard tooltip to build the info whereas blizzard use a specific frame (so you can click things in it)
When using the Battle pet tooltip option, after clicking on a pet in the chat bos the option to "view pet in journal" is no longer there. Is this a bug?
in the settings have you tried unticking then ticking the option to override the vault for that toon?
One of my characters guild bank is showing the default Blizzard graphic instead of Arkinventory. Her bags open just fine as Arkinventory, just the guild bank is not working. It was fine until I recently re-did my Datastore: Container lua, though I don't know if that's connected. I've been using Arkinventory for like 100 years and never had any problems before. Is this something you've heard of? Can it be fixed?
open the mount window and click on its main icon (or use the ldb object)
select flying
select dismount in flight
ArkInventory: WARNING> You are currently flying, please land to select another mount
How the hell do you get rid of this? I cant find it anywhere.
Hi, I'm havin a bit of an annoyance, I cant seem to get the empty bag count on the bag icon to show up. I'm not sure where its gone, but the option doesnt seem to be in Empty either. Is there something I'm missing? :) Thanks in advance!
Hey, first of all great addon. Took me a while to get the hang of it but now that I understand how to set up the bars and everything I love it. One feature I would really like if possible is to allow scrolling. It can get pretty cluttered with 100~ inventory spaces. Also, is there a way to hide bars? I'm sure there is but I can't seem to find it, would be pretty helpful to sort all my empty spaces to one bar and then hide that bar.
Thanks!
Lol figured out how to hide it, would still love to see a scroll feature though :p great addon none the less.
is that the map one or the parental controls one? i dont touch either (well i do hook into the map one but im pretty sure its a secure hook so that shouldnt count)
I'm getting the map error as well right now, fyi.
Edit: wait, nevermind, it's gone now, I think updating my ElvUI fixed it somehow o_O
Now getting the standard error from Blizzard that ArkInventory tried to access a forbidden API.
What's the class sort for? It doesn't sort anything here...
its a dynamic category thats suppoed to pick out stuff thats for your current toons class - ie if you share the same profile across multiple toons it will hold different things
do you have any other item type mods installed? or perhaps a styler type mod (one that changes the look of the icons)?
THe problem of the numbers on the stacks not showing up is still happening. Every hour or so I need to reload the game to have the numbers show up again. When mousing over you can see how many items you have but it wont show on the stacks. It's annoying that you have to reload your game every 30 - 60 mins. I don't get a LUA-error so I'm not really sure what is happening.
I use ElvUI for my interface look.
I have absolutely no idea why anyone would use any inventory addon over this one. Phenomenal quality and organizational capabilities.
