Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Note: I took a tiny break from WoW (a decade), but recently started playing SoD. Be aware that this addon may not quite work yet.
Usage
When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.
Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.
In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.
You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.
Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.
Plugins
Skada is easy to extend, and there were once many extra plugin addons out there that add functionality. However, there are unlikely to be any maintained ones currently.
There is a page with API information here.
Reporting issues
For now use comments.
Interface -> Addons -> Skada -> General options -> Check "Hide in PvP" and "Disable while hidden".
Just checked Warcraft Logs and it seems stagger is no tracked there either. This NEEDS to be tracked. It is an active mitigation ability and it needs visibility. If you're not comfotable putting it in the healing section, fine but it should go somewhere.
To say it shouldn't be tracked is to say that the ability just doesn't do anything.
Woah! Wtf guys? I saw in the change log that there was a "Stagger" fix and now my stagger no longer counts as a heal! It absolutely is a heal!! Its a button I have to press to remove damage and it takes skill to purge it at the right time, there is no reason that shouldn't be counted as a heal. Please revert that change?
I see the coments down there, stagger IS an absorb, it IS a heal just as death strike is a heal. It is the monks way of active mitigation and SHOULD be logged as such,
The loss of tracking for active mitigation of the monk is now a bug in Skada. I'm goign to revert that commit and upload to a public repo so that people can have a non-bugged version with the new features as well.
As for the QQ on the healers, get over it. The numbers are real. When I hit purifying brew, I'm preventing 50% of the damage I just took. That action NEEDS to be tracked, it NEEDS to be logged. It is useful to review which is why we have these things anyway.
It was tracking the damage that went to Stagger as an absorb. All Stagger damage. Not the Stagger that you purified. So yeah, it was a bug.
Well now it doesn't track stagger in the slightest, which is also a bug! This version is no better!
Recount was saving too much data and caused my loading screens to freeze, clearing the wtf file for recount didn't do anything. This works fine ^^
Hey thanks for this great addon. I have a question/suggestion.
I only keep track of the top 5 players doing the most DPS. However, there are times when I am not amoungst those top 5. Is there a way I could lock my place on the list below my top 5 so I dont have to scroll down to see where I am.
Example this would be my DPS window:
1. Monk
2. Warrior
3. Hunter
4. Mage
5. Warlock
9. ME
Having a problem with my bar textures not saving. They revert to 'Blizzard' on every reload.
Bug! Please let me know if I should be reporting this elsewhere.

This should be reported to the SkadaHealthstones addon, which is not part of core Skada.
I'm assuming the answer to this is no, then?
Currently this is not possible. I can see the use for it though, and it is an simple change, so I will put it up as a future feature.
Thanks so much! I would like to have a threat window displayed during combat, and a damage window displayed out of combat, but in different locations.
Is there a way to change the position of the frame...can i move it to foreground somehow (is that the frame layer?)
I have the window where i want it (bottom left corner of screen)...and the addon works great...but part of the window is obscured by the dragons at the ends of my actions bars....if there is an option in configure menu i havent seen it
Same problem here, even went poking around the files for a place to change the framestrata or framelevel or whatever but couldn't find it.
Wound up just typing "/run MainMenuBarLeftEndCap:Hide();MainMenuBarRightEndCap:Hide()" in chat to hide the dragons but i don't want to do that every time I log on.
Please fix the borders!!!! (ticket #273)
Something is wrong with skada healing and Brewmaster monks. Our monk was topping the healing charts on Skada for somereason with his attack.
Combat log showed the correct values after looking at it later that night.
There was a fairly significant error in 1.4-26, which had healing by absorption for melee swings shown as "Attack". This has been corrected in 1.4-27.
i'm using 1.4-27 version and it still shows masive heals when playing my brewmaster
