WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) is a World of Warcraft addon which brings an instant messenger feel to communication in game.

Known Issues

Addons can not process messages while chat is in lock down. To get around this, WIM logs all events and then rebuilds and processes them once you have excited lock down. During this time, chat is routed as normal to the default chat frame so you don't miss anything. Unfortunately, /r and similar keybindings to reply during this time will NOT work. Allowing the default chat frame to handle these events cause severe tainting issues and breaks everything.
Community Chat is now supported. It comes with limitations though because the sender name and message are protected and can not be read by addons or saved.

My WIM just suddenly stopped working. I hadn't installed anything new or changed anything. I could still receive whispers but I could not respond. After typing my message and press enter, the text just disappears but is not sent. When I select to disable WIM I get the error below:

You can... guild and raid chat support is there and you can have it either group automatically or manually by dragging them together.

This is one of my favorite addons.

I do wish I could put Raid and Guild messages in separate tabs/windows.

Any time I try to shift-click an item or profession into a WIM window it repeats itself 2 or 3 times and wipes out all other text in the input box. I can't type any text after it either. Only started doing this with the 3.1 patch. Anyone else have this issue?

I LOVE this add on I used tell windows in EverQuest, TYVM for bringing that to wow for me :) I have only one suggestion, would it be possible to make it like a "sticky cursor" type option? This would have you typing in the last window you were typing in unless you clicked another window. If this is already an option I didn't see it.....

Again this is absolutely hands DOWN my favorite add-on Thanks again!!

Is it possible for you to (make an option to) save the windows that remained active (visible or not) when you last logged out?

That way, when I log out due to being AFK, I can see the whispers I received when I log back in.

but i would love to see some proffesions buttons so that i could link professions to ppl whispering me without opening default professions windows to link it

If you /AFK, all whispers should be saved and marked as unread, so when you logout from inactivity and you miss something you can read it when you log back on.

the error is not WIM's it's a problem with the Ace WhoLib so any addon that uses it will break, does so for Karma too. I would suggest going to WoWAce.com and get the wholib from there, not sure it will fix it, but information can be found there

The update button fails to update etc. This works sometimes, and normally a restart or reload UI will get it working again, but then will fail again. I also noticed when it stops working I am unable to do /who to find anyone. It just states /who request has been added to the queue. Could WIM be spamming the /who channel causing this issue?

love this addon, have used it as long as I can remember but never came across this until I was trying to build a different UI for each character. I have the WIM button detached and movable where ever I want, problem is every time I switch to a new character the button stays in place, and I have to move it on login for each character. I created a temp fix by putting in my own little OnLoad script, but could this be put in next release?

Looks like the last patch may have messed up the external links we can generate from right clicking in the chat box. They are getting cut off.

Does this add-on work with Chatter or ChatMOD? (I love the sounds for each channel, especially since I'm alt+tabbed so often.)

my WIM "whisper" sound no longer works in-game ever since the patch. I deleted the WIM folder in the interface folder and reinstalled WIM which fixed it but only temporarily.
