WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) is a World of Warcraft addon which brings an instant messenger feel to communication in game.

Known Issues

Addons can not process messages while chat is in lock down. To get around this, WIM logs all events and then rebuilds and processes them once you have excited lock down. During this time, chat is routed as normal to the default chat frame so you don't miss anything. Unfortunately, /r and similar keybindings to reply during this time will NOT work. Allowing the default chat frame to handle these events cause severe tainting issues and breaks everything.
Community Chat is now supported. It comes with limitations though because the sender name and message are protected and can not be read by addons or saved.

Upon updating today, I can no longer see my side of any private chats (either in WoW chat windows or WIM). I did get some error pop-ups, including the one previously listed including WIM and DBM. I am not on the PTR.

Outgoing whisper is received, though there is no local echo (either in WIM or WoW -- I've toggled the suppress option). Incoming whispers are received properly. History does not record outgoing whispers. Will check tomorrow whether disabling DBM resolves the issue -- though DBM is sorta important to keep active.

Same Problem here.
I tested every addon and DMB is the only one which causes the problem
with WIM,...

Hi Pazza, I love your AddOn :D There is only one thing I would love if it could be changed. I use a link AddOn, http://fizzwidget.com/linkerator/ .

You can go to the website, there is a little example of it.
I would love if you could enable so they worked to together, instead of
'/s [Jagal Pearl]' for example

Hope you will think about it ;)

Within my own tests, I am unable to reproduce this. I created a test MessageFilter and registered it and WIM is handling them correctly. Might be an issue with DBM. Now, also note if you are on the PTR, DBM will not work with 4.05 since the Message Filter's have been changed.

I'm going to need you're help on this one as I am still unable to reproduce this problem. The only thing I can think of is there being a foreign problem/another addon using filters incorrectly. There is no reason that nil should be passed through the way you are describing. Do me a favor and have WIM and DBM as the only addons running. See if you still have this problem.

Can you add an option for expose to only auto-hide the windows if you are in a group with other people?

I like having my chat windows open while soloing, but while grouped with other people its best to hide them in combat so I don't accidentally click a window and start typing instead of casting. But yeah, please add this option so I don't have to hide them while soloing.

So to wrap this up, expose is removing the windows properly. However, when it comes time to make them reappear it isn't placing it back in the right place on the screen. It re spawns the window a little above where it is supposed to be.

the wim window keeps freaking out, and moving on its own. If I push escape and close the window out, it re appears but in a different position usually above where I want it to spawn. I checked the windows spawn location area and even reset it to where I want it but it keeps moving on its own up the screen.

Pazza since the update this morning I get a greyisch border at the edge of my screen when I engage in combat. The source is wim messenger.

Could you take a look at it?

It isn't a bug. It's meant to be there. It symbolizes that Expose is active. If you don't like it, go into wim's options and change its border thickness to something less obtrusive for you.

Feature request: it will be very nice to have Fubar plagin for WIM. I used it a time ago with the previous version. Have you got any plans to code it? Thanks a lot for your work:)

Is there an ETA on that? Because that's a pretty big break. I can't imagine people will continue to use WIM if they can't talk to GM's when they have an issue...
