Skada Damage Meter
Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter for World of Warcraft with various viewing modes, segmented fights, and customizable windows. It is designed for efficiency with minimal memory and CPU impact.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Midnight Edition (WoW 12.0+)
This version of Skada is updated for World of Warcraft: Midnight and uses Blizzard's new session-based combat systems.
Features
- Midnight Optimized: Uses Blizzard's internal session data for performance and accuracy.
- Combat Reliability: Handles modern combat data restrictions for a stable experience.
- Updated UI: Includes new presets with smooth animations, gradients, and textures.
- Dynamic Elements: Alternating row colors, highlight overlays, spark effects, and icon scaling.
- LDB Integration: Compatible with Data Broker displays such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, and ElvUI.
- Extensible Architecture: The API allows developers to create additional plugins.
Usage
Getting Started
A default window is created upon first load. Access the configuration menu by clicking the cog icon on the window title bar or via the minimap button. Select Configure to access settings.
Multiple Windows
Skada supports multiple windows. Create new ones under the Windows section of the configuration panel. Windows can be:
- Bar: The standard customizable meter.
- Inline: A horizontal line for custom UI setups.
- Data Text: For LDB displays and minimal setups.
Navigation
- Left-Click: View more detailed information.
- Right-Click: Return to the previous view.
- Mousewheel: Scroll through lists.
- Tooltips: Hover over bars to see additional context and shortcut keys (e.g., Shift-click for targets).
Themes
Manage window designs with the built-in Theme Engine. You can import and export themes by using theme strings.
Versions
- Midnight (Default): For WoW 12.0+ using the Native API.
- Classic Version: The version for older WoW releases.
Support

Posted Aug 15, 2009I've just had a little test of it on my mage, and noticed a problem! It doesn't seem to be working properly with DOTs.
I first noticed that when I use a pyroblast, it records the initial pyroblast hit, and the first DOT effect, but the next 2 were ignored. The same problem was happening with living bomb and ignite. I don't know if the same happens with warlock dots? I can confirm that this is the same problem with all dot effects from my mages spells.
On another note, in a BG earlier, my friend did smoe testing. He discovered that the same player was placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th. 5th, 6th and 9th place on the DPS metre.

Posted Aug 15, 2009I'm having two little problems with Skada and I thought you'd like to hear them:
I've set Skada to switch from damage done to threat when in combat and also use the "color name/text by class" option, which leads to some confusion when switching. I think it copies the text colors from the damage done view when switching to thread.
For example:
Hunter is first place in damage, so green text.
Paladin is second place in damage, so pink text.
Enter combat:
Paladin is first place because he's the tank and has highest threat, but his text is now green like the hunters. The bar color is rightfully pink though.
Hunter is now second place in threat, but his text is now pink, while the bar is rightfully green.
I hope you understand this problem.
The second thing is:
Although I enabled the "hide in PvP" option, Skada does in fact not hide itself when I'm in a battleground and thus continues to collect data.
Any hints on how to solve this?
Best regards,
Xaith

Posted Aug 14, 2009There are some thing that I hope could change in a future release though. In the view list there's a lot of things I don't care about. I generally look at damage done, healing, absorbs, fails, deaths. Those other views only make it harder too scroll and find the ones I need. Recount seems more difficult, but knowing to click x times left or right get's a habit, while right/left clicking, scrolling down and looking for a name remains distracting if you only want a few quick looks (without having too many windows open: great option btw).
- Can you make the view list configurable to show only favorites?
- Can you make a combined healing+absorb view?
- Can you possibly place the announce function less deep, or make a separate button or something like that? It's often very helpful to be able to do this very quickly in fight to point out certain info, like fails, slacking, etc.
Hope you'll consider this.
Kind regards,
y

Posted Aug 13, 2009Hello there. First off: Great addon, been using it for a while now. One thing I'm wondering though: Is it possible to remove the spark from the statusbars? I know there's currently no menu option for it, and I've been going through the .lua files but couldn't find anything that seemed related. Any ideas?

Posted Aug 4, 2009Very nice mod though, you converted me from Recount because of the vast efficiency difference. Your mod uses like 1/25th the cpu and memory of recount and gets the job done. Very Impressive :)

Posted Jul 29, 2009No, there is no pull aggro bar currently. Please note that by default Skada shows scaled threat, meaning you pull aggro at 100%, regardless if you are ranged or not. There is an option to enable Omen's behaviour.
