Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes, segmented fights and customizable windows. It aims to be highly efficient with memory and CPU.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

Note: I took a tiny break from WoW (a decade), but recently started playing SoD. Be aware that this addon may not quite work yet.

Usage

When you first start using Skada, there will be a window created by default. This window can be extensively customized in Skada's configuration panel; click the little cog icon to access a menu, and then click Configure. Depending on your user interface, there may also be a minimap button allowing quick access to this menu.

Skada supports multiple windows. To create a new window, click Windows in the addon's configuration panel. There are three built-in types of windows - Bar, Inline, and Data text. Bar is the classic damage meter window, and is very customizable. Inline shows the meter in a horizontal line, which can be useful for integration in custom user interfaces. Data text shows just one item at a time, and can also be displayed by any LDB display addon, such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, or ElvUI.

In the normal Bar window, you can left click on specific items for more detailed information, and right click for less details. At the very "top" is the list of all saved fight segments. Some data modes have several detailed information views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

Plugins

Skada is easy to extend, and there were once many extra plugin addons out there that add functionality. However, there are unlikely to be any maintained ones currently.

For some reason when I turn skada on my Pitbull's bar textures just load a random bar texture, and when I try to change it, it wont.

Looking for a way to attach a KGpanel to Skada.

Currently Skada does not create any frames that would allow a KGpanel to attach to. Does anyone know a work around? Have googled this to death and could not find any solutions short of asking the author to create a frame for Skada.

I am unable to configure additional windows that I create. Even using the config menu from the new window, the changes only apply to the original skada window. :(

Nevermind! I reinstalled and now it is fine. Silly me >.>

Used it and switched back to recount. The reason for me was, that every time I did vanish, and with mutilate I do this often, skada starts a new segment. This means for every boss fight I got 2 or more segments (depending on the duration of the fight) so it becomes useless for me.

Can Omen's threat meter be replaced by Skada? It would be nice to have a single mod that works just as well and gives Recount/Assessment functionality as well.

Hi, I have a problem with this addon.
It seems Skada won't reset anymore. The mem useage is always at 3-5 mb.
It should less then 1 when i reset it. Or not?
Need Help!

Maybe I am misconfiguring something, but the default window pops up all the time I exit from combat. Is there any way to stop doing it when it was hidden before combat? I only want it to reappear only when it was already open before combat.

Hi, I have two problems.
it's a great addon, but some times it stop with its counts, it seems to be blocked. and when I have a new combat it don't count.
in pvp, it don't work

I want to use this addon, because it looks much cleaner than Recount, but the fact that you must be dealing damage for it to gathering damage stats and the lack of character-pet merging is unacceptable. Fix these two things, and you'll have 1 more download at least.

Is it possible to see multiple Deaths? It is annoying to CR someone and after the fight you cannot see the cause of his first death. I'd really appreciate this. Also sometimes there is like nothing that caused the kill shown. Drop from 100% to death in 2 sec.. but no dmg incoming..

I'd love to see a fix.

Any chance for Skada to have "favorite" modes, so that the switching between the normal modes you use can be done faster. ( you only see favorites among the choosable modes, but can select to view the other modes some other way )

Still ain't starting if I don't start to dps, plus would love an option like... "disable when solo" instead "disable when hidden" or in addition to it.

One important thing in Skada is missing for me - "Total Raid DPS(Damage Done, HPS etc)" in current window, just like "Grand Total" row in report. Not icon tooltip on minimap or so, but another one row in main window.

I'm trying to remove the shadow of the fonts. I've been fiddling around in 'SpecializedLibBars-1.0.lua' I've managed to change the basic appearences of the fonts.

But the shadow is causing some trouble. Neither 'SetShadowColor(0,0,0,0)' nor 'SetShadowOffset(0, 0)' works, and these 2 are the only ways I know.

Am I even searching in the right spot? I've not checked through the other Libs as I find it unneccesary when I don't know what to look for.

Yes. It is my only complaint with Skada vs Recount. I was in a group with a tank that refused to wait for me to finish drinking before running off, and the damage meters didn't begin until I entered combat.

I am considering replacing Recount with Skada. But in the first testing in raid, I found that the damage dealt by other members are a little higher in Recount. I guess that this is because Skada did not start tracking the raid damage before I dealt the first damage. Does any one have the same problem?

Does anyone know if Skada can track pet damage? It only shows my hunter's dps, not what the pet is doing.
