Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter for World of Warcraft with various viewing modes, segmented fights, and customizable windows. It is designed for efficiency with minimal memory and CPU impact.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

Midnight Edition (WoW 12.0+)

This version of Skada is updated for World of Warcraft: Midnight and uses Blizzard's new session-based combat systems.

Usage

Getting Started

A default window is created upon first load. Access the configuration menu by clicking the cog icon on the window title bar or via the minimap button. Select Configure to access settings.

Multiple Windows

Skada supports multiple windows. Create new ones under the Windows section of the configuration panel. Windows can be:

Bar: The standard customizable meter.
Inline: A horizontal line for custom UI setups.
Data Text: For LDB displays and minimal setups.

Navigation

Left-Click: View more detailed information.
Right-Click: Return to the previous view.
Mousewheel: Scroll through lists.
Tooltips: Hover over bars to see additional context and shortcut keys (e.g., Shift-click for targets).

Themes

Manage window designs with the built-in Theme Engine. You can import and export themes by using theme strings.

Versions

Midnight (Default): For WoW 12.0+ using the Native API.
Classic Version: The version for older WoW releases.

Skada tracks debuff uptime which is great, is there a way to make it track buff uptime? Like weapon procs?

Extra sorting fix: to also make Skada sort your abilities the correct way, comment out (place -- in front of the line) lines 189 & 191 of BarDisplay.lua in your Skada directory.

Here is the solution for everyone who wants to fix the sorting bug with bars in "grow up" mode, i.e. seeing the bottom 10 of the list, instead of the top 10. Open up BarDisplay.lua the Skada directory and put -- in front of lines 265, 267, 323, 330-333. That should fix it. Enjoy!

Skada just wont stop "counting" when a boss is down, causing the dps display to drop for like 5 seconds after the fight making it horribly inaccurate... guess i switch to a different meter again

Is there a way that elementals can be counted as player dps as well? i.e. fire elementals for elemental shamans? I think other classes have their pets counted towards their dmg.

I found a fix to this "issue" on the following wowace ticket.

I've applied this change to the most recent release of SKADA 1.2-29 successfully.

Repaste of code change for people too lazy to follow the above link:
1. Navigate to the following function in Skada.lua

function Skada:COMBAT_LOG_EVENT_UNFILTERED(event, timestamp, eventtype, srcGUID, srcName, srcFlags, dstGUID, dstName, dstFlags, ...)

2. Go to the end of the function, and find this:

if eventtype == 'SPELL_SUMMON' and band(srcFlags, RAID_FLAGS) ~= 0 then
pets[dstGUID] = {id = srcGUID, name = srcName
end

3. Change the code to look like this:

if eventtype == 'SPELL_SUMMON' and band(srcFlags, RAID_FLAGS) ~= 0 then
if pets[srcGUID] then
pets[dstGUID] = {id = pets[srcGUID].id, name = pets[srcGUID].name }
else
pets[dstGUID] = {id = srcGUID, name = srcName}
end
end

Any chance to getting a fix for shaman's fire ele totem being listed seperately on damage?

Edit: Got bored waiting for a reply, so looked into the code & fixed it myself. Skada.lua in FixPets() before "action.playername = pet.name" at the end of the function added: if (pets[pet.id]) then pet = pets[pet.id]; end

Would like to say that it can't do basic math somehow, 142.3k dps over 49 seconds (time taken from recount and confirmed via stopwatch, since skada won't show seconds) yields 2094 dps roughly give or take a second, yet skada shows me doing 3350dps....or in other words skada thinks 7 seconds of the fight didn't happen....idk why but it does.

I use tiptac to relocate the tipanchor to topleft of screen - i can not get skada to recognize this location. It goes to bottom-right. If i change tiptac to mouseover anchor skada will anchor to that fine so it leads me to believe that there might be a setting in skada that sets default anchor position.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm probably going to switch back to Recount here soon because I'm getting tired of it constantly saving data on one toon even when I switch to a different toon. I have separate profiles set up but this seems to not make a difference. Unless anyone has similar problems and knows how to correct it?

What makes you think Recount is accurate?
Tinydps differs from Skada and Recount too - who is to tell wich one is the accurate?

I know one thing, skada doesn't start recording until the user enters combat--that is, if person A has recount and person B has skada, and person A starts to dps while person B is drinking/far enough away not to enter combat, and then starts to DPS 10 seconds after person A, then the data for that fight will not match up between A and B's respective damage meters.

Hi, Thanks for cool mod.. been looking for something to replace chatty mem hog in raids - Recount :)

On my S-priest i use Gnosis.. just isntalled it tonight... and Skada no longer functions... its weird.. no error msg's that i can see.. or pop up.. it just sits there.. and nothing ever shows up... no data is collected... I try and report data in skada.. and it gives me an error.. that the data is = to Nil..

I understand mods sometimes conflict.. and dont expecyt every mod to play nice... but just curious why or if there's a fix at all.. I dont wanna go back to recount.. rofl..

Is it because gnosis takes over the cast bar ??.. i tried "showing the blizzard cast bar".. and that didnt work either.

Is there any way I can change the opacity of the class colored bars?
I know it draws directly from the RAID_CLASS_COLORS but I don't know how to use LUA to pass it through an opacity filter to make it a different opacity.
