Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter for World of Warcraft with various viewing modes, segmented fights, and customizable windows. It is designed for efficiency with minimal memory and CPU impact.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

Midnight Edition (WoW 12.0+)

This version of Skada is updated for World of Warcraft: Midnight and uses Blizzard's new session-based combat systems.

Usage

Getting Started

A default window is created upon first load. Access the configuration menu by clicking the cog icon on the window title bar or via the minimap button. Select Configure to access settings.

Multiple Windows

Skada supports multiple windows. Create new ones under the Windows section of the configuration panel. Windows can be:

Bar: The standard customizable meter.
Inline: A horizontal line for custom UI setups.
Data Text: For LDB displays and minimal setups.

Navigation

Left-Click: View more detailed information.
Right-Click: Return to the previous view.
Mousewheel: Scroll through lists.
Tooltips: Hover over bars to see additional context and shortcut keys (e.g., Shift-click for targets).

Themes

Manage window designs with the built-in Theme Engine. You can import and export themes by using theme strings.

Versions

Midnight (Default): For WoW 12.0+ using the Native API.
Classic Version: The version for older WoW releases.

Under the absorbs and healing display, when you hover over a name (or click into a submenu), you only get the absorbs done by a player (meaning that for most classes it won't display anything - note it still shows their healing+absorb done, just not their healing breakdown by spell). Would it be possible to make it display both the absorbs and healing done by individual spells?

Skada uses a very simple method for detecting combat start by default: when you enter combat. For a raid boss this is the instant anyone in your raid enters combat. This has the advantage of not using any resources at all while not in combat. For non-raids, there is an option called "Aggressive combat detection" which does a bit of trickery to detect combat earlier; consequently (and inevitably) also consumes more resources while outside combat.

I prefer to use Skada 10/10 times over Recount. But, unfortunately I am forced to revert back to Recount due to Skada not correctly displaying the full dmg for fights. Apparently (maybe just me) it doesn't start recording dmg until I land my 1st attack on the mob as opposed to when the tank 1st pulls.

If there is an option I did not check or if there a fix coming soon to this mod.
I would greatly appreciate it.

I thought so, and I went back to Skada. But every time I raid with my guild my skada dmg meter is always way off of what everyone else has using recount. Is this suppose to be happening? I thought all dmg meters were suppose to be accurate.

Using 1.2-33 from a couple days ago, I'm still getting these with a freshly reset data set. Triggered when trying to rez people after a raid boss.

If I reset data, is there ANY way to retrieve it? I forgot that my data resets upon leaving a group, and never got to check my healing meters before leaving my raid :(

Does anyone know how to make skada show "total" instead of "current fight" dps by default. I hate having to change it every time I enter a new instance. Thanks.

very good and interesting addon but it seems to miss an importart feature. when i control my dmg i can see all my spells and olding mouse on them i can see maximum hit, minimum hit, average it for each one, but can't link them in any channel and if i push left click i see hit/crit and can link it but just the numbers and not the value. it could be nice if i could link the window i see olding mouse on single skill too.

Click the window's configuration button (there is only one button). From here you can report your current window's content, whatever it may be, to any channel.

problem is that there isn't a current window for maximum hit minimum etc, just a little scrren on mousover and can't link it.
i would that screen in a window linkable too

Hi there got new errors for you. i got about 2.389 then i turned off my bug grabber. as postet before, Skada is broken now.

u got these errors pm'ed. don't blame me for doing so, i ddon't like to registrate on XY sites, just to post some stuff to help.

You might be right. but which argument should a basic user force to not use the comfy way of the comment section below the download link? if an author truley cares about his addoncommunity, he won't take this comfortable information posting away from his own people.

Hi,

The current version of Skada keeps failing for me. It stops showing data after a couple of fights and will not mode switch (I have it set to show Threat during combat and Damage when out of combat), and the mode switching is the main reason I switched to Skada from Recount.

Reading over recent comments it seems I'm not alone in having issues, so I'm wondering if there is a fix in the works or what the status is regarding problems like this.

No, Skada has no Healing Taken mode. It would be fairly trivial to write one though. A guildie actually asked for it just the other day, so I may add one.

I can't find to se healing taken stats, is there anyway of doing this or something to add for the next version maybe? recount has it and it's imba, but I can't find it in Skada? Am I missing something?
