HealPoints
HealPoints is a healer gear benchmark addon similar to TankPoints for tanks. It is designed to make it easier for healers to choose the most optimal gear, balancing
- Intelligence
- Mana Regen
- Spirit
- Spell Power
- Crit Rating
- Spell Haste
It displays all your relevant basic stats as well as HP/sec, HP/mana, etc. for all your healing spells. It also displays a few more advanced benchmarks:
- PowerPoints: focused on healing output over a short period
- EndurancePoints: focused on healing output over a long period
HealPoints detects and supports all relevant talents and almost all set and equip bonuses.
You can view your current HealPoints by typing:
/hp calc
Your HealPoints, PowerPoints and Endurance points will also be displayed on your paperdoll.
If you have a LibDataBroker feed view (e.g. TitanPanel) then you will see:
- a feed containing your current HealPoints
- a tooltip showing the value of relative stats
HealPoints contains a calculator that lets you manipulate the basic stats and see how they affect your spells and overall healing efficiency.

Posted Jan 13, 2006In that case, I think I'll rather add an extra line with Total healing including regen just below the current Total healing line.

Posted Jan 13, 2006yes, im talking about the total healed part in the second box down. This according to the tooltip shows the amount healed with this rank of spell, untill you run out of mana, not counting regen.
I'd like a toggle to show regen, so you can see how much longer different ranks would allow you to cast.
Very nice mod btw :)
edit:- Instead of going the hard way and picking up the item stats, you could allow two windows to be open side by side? This would make it easier to work out things like the effects of different enchants before you get them

Posted Jan 13, 2006Regen is already included in HealPoints, PowerPoints, EndurancePoints and (obviously) RegenPoints. It doesn't make any difference to HP/sec. Are you thinking about HP/mana and Total healed?
I've been thinking about finding some way of automatically showing how a new item would affect the healing stats. Not sure how I'll do it yet. Won't make version 1.1 (out soon), maybe 1.2.

Posted Jan 13, 2006Could you add a (include regen) checkbox for the differnt healing spell calculations, it would help me prove a point to all the flash healing priests >.>
oh, and a way to shift click items or something to show how it affects things if you were to swap it out.

Posted Jan 10, 2006The addon is accessed from the character info sheet, below the image of your character. Click the "HealPoints: xxxxx"-line to open the calculator. It's all in the Readme, btw :-)

Posted Jan 9, 2006I've found out how to detect blessing of wisdom, but I can't detect if it's the improved version or not :-( So it won't be added (for now, at least). I don't support the moonkin aura either, btw.
I've fixed a bug regarding items with "+x damage and healing spells" effects. They will be detected correctly in the next version.

Posted Jan 9, 2006The +5% holy crit from the holy power talent is supported. (The Readme lists all supported talents)
HealPoints calculates the effect of intelligence on crit% as int/59.5. This was based on the following post by Tseric on the US Mage boards:
"The basic mechanic of INT to Crit% is an increase of 1% every 59.5 points for mages. A mage is generally expected to have around 286 points of INT at 60. This works out to about 5% crit on average for mages. It is possible to go higher, as Crit% does go up incrementally. EDIT- The increase of 1%crit for 59.5 is for everyone, not just mages. However, mages tend to have more INT, thus my phrasing." He also said that the is no base crit%.
Thus the crit% listed in HealPoints is most likely only correct for level 60 chars. But it's the best I can do until Blizzard makes it possible to get the exact value (as they do for melee crit%).

Posted Jan 9, 2006Finaly something to do while the lughead tanks talk about their tank points.
Does this include the +5% holy crit from paladin holy talents at this time? im only showing ~11% holy crit right now through the program, and i think it should be higher.
im sitting at 51896 right now completely -unbuffed-, cant wait for raid time to see what i hit.

Posted Jan 9, 2006Buffs that increase int/spi (arcane intellect, divine spirit, mark of the wild, blessing of kings, ...) are supported.
But not (yet) blessing of wisdom. I won't add BoW-detection until I also can detect if you have the improved BoW on you or not, and I don't know how easy that will be. But I'll have a look. For now, enter 30/33/36 into the casting regen input box to see the effect of (improved) BoW.

Posted Jan 9, 2006One thing: My Blessing of Wisdom as a Paladin isn't recognized for mana-regen. :(
I mean, it's no biggy, just wanted to know whether it's intended to not scan buffs, or just a bug? I can see why to not do it, could you then maybe add a small switch similar to the BoL thingy to the window where a Paladin can state he'll be using BoW?
