There is a Handy Notes addon that adds a button to your world map so you can quickly show or hide the items. 

I continue to wish for a hotkey to quickly turn off handy notes so I can see an uncluttered map without having to go through 3 menu selections to disable it.

This seems like something that should be pretty basic to an addon like this.

I was just going to post about this. If not a hotkey, button at the map window could work just fine too.

just make a macro /handynotes it opens up the menu straight away and u can click enable button

Is there a hotkey or macro to toggle on/ off handy notes?  when I'm questing, it's hard to find the next quest POI.

Can this please get updated to work with 6.2 the draenor version is updated but requires this and this cannot be properly used without being updated.

Would nice if you could change your Version-number to a better format in front wow version, after that your version. example: 6.2.0.x

i miss a class filter, that only show loot for the actual or a specific class, i think this can be very useful to equip twinks

Look like you do listen to requests and added several recent features.

Perhaps you could collaborate with Sexymap and make this work with their HUD? It would be so nice to see it on the HUD instead of watching Minimap and/or map.

This problem happens to me whenever I go into an interior area that has a map, like a cave, or the Pandaria capitols. The addon is trying to figure out where all the pips belong in the interior map over and over and is having a seizure causing massive framerate drops unless you open up the world map.

I dunno if this problem comes from you or the modules I added for handynotes, but the icons on my minimaps are blinking crazily and it's getting a bit annoying, I have to turn them off else I go crazy

but then I'm left guessing around for where the exact spot is for each icon from the big map...

this might be obvious to some players, but i thought i would post something that has helped me out while using handynotes with not being able to move them in-game anymore (with [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + left mouse drag):

1. if you are comfortable editing . LUA files with a simple text editor, you can put that handy note just where you want it exactly to be, but this must be done of course when you are not in-game. 
2. place your handynote approximately where you want it to be in-game, name it, and choose an icon.
3. take note of where you would like it to actually be, by using your mouse and finding the location on the map or perhaps going to wowhead and finding out the precise location of the in-game item.
4. open HandyNotes.lua file in your SavedVariables folder with any text editor.
5. look for the map name where you placed the note (within the text of the .LUA file), for example if it is in orgrimmar:

the value [57174717] refers to the coordinates on that particular map in hundredths
(2 decimal places).

57174717 translates to x=57.17, y=47.17

• lastly, input (replace the numbers) of that exact locaton you want to move the handynote to, so for example if you wanted it to be at (25,35) in orgrimmar, you would replace:

57174717 with 25003500
