Okay, so the Description tab tells me how to create notes and associate them with map locations.

It does not say even one thing as to how to access any note(s) after they are created. It is reasonable to assume that the Map must be displayed to access any note(s). However, if a PC must be at the location in order to read a corresponding note(s), then that severely limits the utility of the add-on.

Is there a way to review the entire set of notes, or to search all of those that have been made? I don't necessarily associate (1) numeric coordinates with (2) textual or graphic content in my own mind -- what I remember are the names of locations ("Mistfall Village"), or the names of NPCs ("Master Cheng"), or sometimes the names of quests. We give people, places, and things names so that we can remember them. "12:25" is not a name.

Can a note be edited? Can a note be deleted?

I'd like to know how can I load my profiles from one account/pc to the other, I copy/pasted HandyNotes folder to the other pc but file with profiles is not there, I guess?

If you want to transfer the notes that you have made to another installation of the WoW game software, or to another account in the same WoW game folder, then you must copy each file that has "Handy Notes" in the name, from the Saved Variables folders that are in the WTF folder, which is in the World of Warcraft folder (where the game software is installed).

For example, on my computer, the Handy Notes data is stored in the following file:

D:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\account_number\realm_name\Saved Variables\HandyNotes.lua

The account_number is a string of digits and symbols that is shown on your computer as the name of a folder in that path. The realm_name folder has the same name as the realm (server) in which your Player Character is located in the game.

Does this addon contain pre-written notes, or is it for writing your own notes? Or both? Hard to tell from the description what it is that this addon is for, unless you are familiar with Cartographer_Notes (and I am not).

You can find the latest version (r230) released on 06/05/2013 that is updated for WoW 5.3.0 at:

It's working with Handy Notes Vendor at the moment and now I'm going to try it with some other Handy Notes Addons and see if it works with them or if the other addons have bugs or not. If I remember I will post my findings here.

Is there a way to turn the notes off on my mini map and only show them on my world map?

That site doesn't have anything later than what's here, and while it's generally been working fine I'm starting to have issues with notes from one map showing up on another. Don't know if it's something that changed with 5.x or not. Reloading the UI doesn't fix it either.

Aisenfaire is correct. That is where the latest updates are. You just need to choose the Alpha versions (with an "A") after the version number.

If you simply hit "Download", it will default to the release version of the addon, which is the last stable version of the addon. So unfortunately if you want to use this addon, you need to be using an alpha version for now. Hopefully a release (stable) version will come out one day. I hope that helped.  :)

Update would be nice, This addon is great!!

Anyone know of a macro that would work to put a handynote at your current location without having to do the dialog box?  Would like to be able to just push a button and have the spot marked with the parameters I specify in the macro.  Any ideas?
