Elkano's BuffBars

EBB provides groups of (mainly) statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants placed on their weapons.

For over 20 years, EBB has been a mainstay for both long-term and returning players (at least some) and reports of its death have been greatly exaggerated.

Two-in-One Download

For Classic WoW, the addon uses its older 2.x code base, for Mainline WoW (Retail and Forever) it is now based on Blizzard's AuraContainer; all in the same download file.

2.x based on UnitAura

Version 2.x was a total recode, initially based on the Ace2 framework, later ported to Ace3, which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It has served well for ~19 years (since June '07) and made it possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. EBB v2 thus limits cancelling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. ~~This will be coming in a later version.~~

3.x based on AuraContainer

This is once again a complete artisanal rewrite, which became necessary due to Blizzard making auras secret in combat. This also gave me the push to include some features I already wanted but never included before. And you can cancel buffs in combat again.

Layouts can now be shared between groups, support multi-line/-column alignments, and give you way more options than before. But it can also just look the same as it used to.

What did suffer from the change of underlying technology are some of the filter options, as Blizzard has intentionally broken those.

And I haven't added localization to v3, yet. So most texts are in English besides a few strings reused from the game client.

Settings

The settings can be accessed via chat (/ebb), LDB icon, or simply via the game settings.

yeah, you most likely forgot to set the selfcast filter to whitelist (meaning a buff has to be cast by you/your pet/your vehicle to show up)

hey guys i got a question
i'm a troll rogue and i want to make a bar for all my rouge skills like s&d, arenalin and so on. my problem is when i put Berserk on the whitelist of that bar it also shows me the procc of my berserk weapon enchant.
is there a way to block the weapon enchant from the bar and only show me my racial skill?

This addon is nice! I like it. avit hard to understand the filtering and buf/debuf. But when experementing abit i configuret it exactly as i wanted it to be. :D Its nice to just make a frame for just 1 or 2 debufs that is hard to se among many buffs u can get. Realy nice.

Hi, I love the addon, but I'm having some trouble creating a new group to track target debuffs specific to what I need.

For example, on my druid I need to keep track of different mangle type debuffs, and I want it shown in this new group.

I want it to display either mangle or trauma on my target, as well as all other abilities a druid can use, but I dont want it to list all other class abilities. How can I set it up this way?

It's quite easy, look through the groups, you'll find a group called Debuffs (should be Group 2). Go into Bar Layout > Height/Width and adjust it to be the same as group 1 :)

As for the moving, just enable the Anchor, it's the first option when you're "editing" a group.

I used to use Buffalo but it seems to be discontinued. This seems like an interesting addon. Can anybody tell me if it's possible to configure it to show buffs horizontally rather than vertically? I'd like to keep my buffs in the top right and scrolling across my screen. I don't really like the default, vertical, big window setting. If that's the only way the addon works I think I'll pass.

I can not seem to get a portion of the Blacklist to appear on screen. If the number of items listed exceed some number (50?) they fall below the screen and are not accessible.

Where is the blacklist saved and how might I edit it manually until this is fixed?

I might be wrong, but you should be able to scroll through those lists by using mouse wheel. Give it a try :)

A question. Is it possible somehow (if needed, through change of a .lua file) to make a Group (just one, not all of them) only show if I'm in Cat Form? I don't see it being too difficult, just a [stance:3] check, but I'm afraid I'm not good enough with lua to edit it in myself.

A healer's short question:
is it possible to filter a group to show buffs only if the target is a friend?
I've build up a gruop to show debuffs on my target, which is very useful to check whether my healing target is affected by Mortal Strike or other debuffs. This works perfectly.
The problem occurs by the time I switch to deal damage ... this gruop becomes overwhelming.

I can't get my firestone enchant on my web to be the same bar as my buffs. Can't really figure out how to config it, what is the option for it ?

Hi,

I used to use this addon in the past, and it's great. I installed it again now, but I can't white or black list anything. It doesn't remember buffs or debuffs like it used to. Kinda hard to set it up if you can't pick things to filter :)

What's wrong you think? I tried with both ace2 and 3 running.

when I have this mod active, the text in the bottom right of my screen that comes up when you hover over a skill or an item (or a buff), the text inside if its more than 2 lines, the line spacing is less than it normally is, each line is on the verge of overlapping the next... is there anyway to resolve this? even after using these bars for 30 minutes I love them
