Elkano's BuffBars
EBB provides groups of (mainly) statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants placed on their weapons.
For over 20 years, EBB has been a mainstay for both long-term and returning players (at least some) and reports of its death have been greatly exaggerated.
Two-in-One Download
For Classic WoW, the addon uses its older 2.x code base, for Mainline WoW (Retail and Forever) it is now based on Blizzard's AuraContainer; all in the same download file.
2.x based on UnitAura
Version 2.x was a total recode, initially based on the Ace2 framework, later ported to Ace3, which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It has served well for ~19 years (since June '07) and made it possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.
Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames.
EBB v2 thus limits cancelling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring.
This will be coming in a later version.
3.x based on AuraContainer
This is once again a complete artisanal rewrite, which became necessary due to Blizzard making auras secret in combat. This also gave me the push to include some features I already wanted but never included before. And you can cancel buffs in combat again.
Layouts can now be shared between groups, support multi-line/-column alignments, and give you way more options than before. But it can also just look the same as it used to.
What did suffer from the change of underlying technology are some of the filter options, as Blizzard has intentionally broken those.
And I haven't added localization to v3, yet. So most texts are in English besides a few strings reused from the game client.
Settings
The settings can be accessed via chat (/ebb), LDB icon, or simply via the game settings.

Posted Sep 19, 2012Hi!
It seems this should be a working version (r169)?
I had this addon before 5.0.4 patch, but I disbaled the addon. Now I tried to install it once more, but it seems I lost all the bar layouts. Is this the case, we all need to set bars layout now again?
Don't see config minimap button now, can not see default buffs with newly created bar, config window gets widened each time I hit the Show Anchor.
However when I try to create more groups they seemed to remeber my old group names and their settings, but not their positions and size.
I don't see any global setting for scale that would be a nice feature if possible.
Tried mayn Reloadui, relog, but none of the buffs/debuffs showed up, and after each relog the 4 bars are vanished.
Thank you

Posted Oct 30, 2012It seems some previous version ruined saved variables lua file and I was unable to use it since then.
Solution was using r169 version aftwer I deleted the lua file in wtf directory and loaded an old backup one from Cataclysm time.
With this I kept all the saved bars/setting/positions/filters.

Posted Sep 10, 2012Just wanted to say thank you!!!!! I have been a user of this mod since it came out and was sorely disappointed when I read that there would be no update for this patch. I, for one, appreciate you actually putting it out anyways. I spent hours looking for a replacement for this one and nothing works as well with my UI.

Posted Sep 6, 2012Did it still error after reloading? Even though deleting a group should also remove the corresponding options it seems like they somehow stuck around in DewDrop but a relog should fix that.

Posted Sep 2, 2012I am having an issue. The addon works fine, but the only problem is that the tooltip is not showing, i mouse over any buff/debuff & no tooltip shows. I have gone thru all the settings and dont find the cause. when i disabled tiptac, the tooltip would show for the debuffs but not for the buffs. please help me, thanks.
EDIT: It is working now, it seems that smart frame mover was conflicting. maybe it was putting the tooltip outside the screen.

Posted Sep 2, 2012My tracking button has decided that it does not like the current release of EBB. I have every addon disabled except EBB, and the tracking button is gone. Originally i thought it was the map addon I had, but after enabling one by one, I found that it was indeed EBB. Please take a look at this and see if anything can be done. I really like this addon, but if it disables something as core as the tracking button....

Posted Sep 2, 2012EBB comes with a tracking buff that provides the same functionality as the minimap tracking button. Thus the minimap button is hidden by default. You can still disable the hiding of that button in EBB's options though.

Posted Sep 1, 2012I love this mod, the update is great, but I used to have it so the debuffs were automatically underneath my buffs, and as buffs were added the debuffs would move down accordingly. I accidently moved the debuff tracking bar and now I can't get it to go back to the way it was. The only other option i can find is to add debuffs to the buffs bar, but then they get mixed in with my buffs :( Any help on how to fix this? I just want my debuffs attached to the bottom of my buffs
I did /ebb profile reset and fixed it, but I'll leave this up in case anyone else has the same issue :)

Posted Sep 1, 2012Is there any way to change it so we don't see the milisecond countdown, but only seconds.
It just makes it confusing/annoying to look at those numbers changing so fast.
