Elkano's BuffBars
EBB provides groups of statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (currently focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants place on it's weapons.
Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. Currently EBB limits canceling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. This will be coming in a later version.
Version 2.x is a total recode based on the Ace2 framework which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It's now possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. EBB can be configured via a dropdown menu which is accessible via chat (/ebb config), FuBar plugin or (for the group settings) by right clicking the groups anchor. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.
In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install SharedMedia which is available for download under http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/sharedmedia.aspx

For some reason whenever I leave the battlegrounds, I get an EBB error. After the error displays, EBB usually incorrectly displays my buffs; doubling the first few buffs I have, while the buffs at the bottom don't display at all. This seems to correct itself naturally after a minute or so, but it's slightly annoying.
I'll get a screenshot next time it happens.
Is there an easy way to change the colors associated to the timer on each buff? Or better yet, a texture? I'd love to get this to match the rest of my UI.
for some reason i can't see my buffs. i get the command list when i type /ebb and i've tried /ebb anchor topleft, after i cleared my topleft corner, but still can't see a thing
Is there a way to add border to the buff ? A little bit like CTBuff ?
Thanks Elkano ^^
It its working.. but everytime I relog WoW I need to type /ebb anchor bottomright again :-(
@Delee: sorry, but I don't know a way to invert the bars in order to have them go from left to right.
@Brunus: this is caused by another addon you've installed, eg CT_BuffMod
@Heraion, MrSpoot82: /ebb anchor bottomright SHOULD do that, unfortunatly it seems like it's not working for everyone :/
The default behavior for EBB seems to be that the buffs are anchored at the "top" and they continue to be added underneath the anchored buff.
Is there a way to reverse this, for us weirdos who want to have the buffs in the lower corner of the screen and have them be added ever-upwards? If the functionality is built in, it would unfortunately be non-obvious. Thanks!
It would be really nice if you could choose the direction in which the timer bar depletes. I have my buffs on the right and would be a lot happier if the timer depleted Left to Right, rater than Right to Left.
Is there a way that you can get it to do the buffs up instead off down.. I dont meen in the /ebb invert
Elkano, the cross server battlegrounds are causing ELKBB to bring up an error for some reason? After you close the error its fine again.
PvP is so fast paced I can't get a screenie atm ;)
Could it be possible to separate frames for buffs and debuffs ? I would love having two different frames, in order to position buffs and debuffs at different places of my interface.
Thanks.
I would love a way to designate certain buffs (not all) as 'sticky'. So, I could designate buffs like fortitude, arcane intellect, mark of the wild, divine spirit, windfury, lightning shield to show whether they're active or not. Would help to have this option, so in a raid situation if you have 12 buffs or so it would be easier to notice a certain buff wasn't up. Would be nice if these 'sticky' buffs could flashed when expired.
Also getting the same anchor problem as the guy below heres my picture show,
all the while the mod showed anchor as being bottomright. http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/553/exampleol9.jpg
edit: what i did to bandaid the problem was this, i made a macro that has /ebb anchor topright /ebb anchor bottomright
used supermacro's RunMacro('ebb') command in a dab onevent script(variables loaded) this means that whenever variables are loaded the macro is run resetting the anchor to bottom right. hope that helps anyone for the time being.
I've already coded it into my working copy, I'm only fixing afew other issues I had before releasing this. Until then locate it's svade variables file ( World of Warcraft\wtf\Account\<account name>\SavedVariables\ElkBuffBar.lua and delete the values for x and y. this should reset it to the center of the screen.
Thinking I would rather use the Gypsy Buffbar, I put my trusty ElkBuffBar under my titanpanel...
Then found out gypsybuffbar doesn't display weapon poisons.
So, now I couldn't drag my EBB out from under my Titan panel, and then I messed with the slash commands for awhile and now I can't find it at all.
Then, I deleted it and redownloaded... To no avail, it still won't show.
Could you possibly add in a /ebb reset commandline to reset the EBB to the default position? Thanks
I'm currently looking into a rewrite using ACE2 which will make some changes a lot easier. Having seperate lists for buffs/debuffs/tempbuffs is pland for that, too.
Some feature requests:
- An option to change the text size of the Buff name. - An option to change the colour of different types of buffs (I'd really like "Combustion" to stand out in some way). - The ability to place the buff frame and the debuff frame in different places (make them seperate frames).
Otherwise, keep up the great work!
Awesome work, you are my new hero. At least for the next 27 seconds then I have to make my wife hero again.
well, you could disable them in the lua file itself, but ingame, there is no way atm.
