Elkano's BuffBars

EBB provides groups of statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (currently focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants place on it's weapons.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. Currently EBB limits canceling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. This will be coming in a later version.

Version 2.x is a total recode based on the Ace2 framework which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It's now possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. EBB can be configured via a dropdown menu which is accessible via chat (/ebb config), FuBar plugin or (for the group settings) by right clicking the groups anchor. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install SharedMedia which is available for download under http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/sharedmedia.aspx

For those of us who don't have any idea which line in that file could possibly be this elusive "line 733", look for Baps comment a couple days ago on October 12th. (One page over from here, currently.) Instead of deleting it, he suggests replacing it, and that worked for me.

PLEASE UPDATE!!! I love this addon and need it badly. Also for some reason this messes up my Grid addon as /grid doesn't work when i have this addon turned on. Its only this addon that does it.

had the same problem, just go to Interface -> Help and activate the LUA Error Messenger, after that deactivate it and close the LUA Error Window, now the lags are gone.

After the patch I have a problem when I walk, ride, or fly, my screen is jerky. About every second, it stops for a few ms. All other addons are disabled except this one. I love this addon if there is anything you can do with it..

Not really. They added a secureheader method. Addon authors just need to reconfigure their addons to handle that. Hopefully no functionality will be lost.

Apparently addons canceling buffs has been removed. Buffs are now considered protected. They are working on a way to fix this, but it doesn't look good. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=27189091160&postId=271554074480&sid=1#4

The more I look around it's looking like this addon will only be able to display buff status but you won't be able to cancel buffs anymore, except through the BlizzardUI.

You are correct. Buffs are now a secured function. In short to cancel a buff a user must click it off. No more automated removals. All this requires is additional coding to handle the new secured buffs.

To solve the 'GetTrackingTexture' bug, open "ElkBuffBars.lua" and replace
self:ScanData_TRACKING()
with
--self:ScanData_TRACKING()
or just delete it.

You could also delete function ElkBuffBars:ScanData_TRACKING() form line 746 to 774.

Excellent fix, works quite well.

Delete the function, and put -- in front of all instances of self:ScanData_Tracking()

Works well enough for me, I do look forward to an official update though.

you can replace the embedded dewdrop lib with the newest version from wowace and the options menu will work for 4.01

The options menu doesn't work for this one. Goes for more addons. Does anyone have any idea what causes this or, better still, how to fix it?

The menu appears, but I can't actually click it. After a few seconds, it disappears.

It has to do with a change made by blizzard, buffs can no longer be cancelled by clicking on an "insecure" buff frame(not sure of all the details of it), but the frame will have to be made "secure" before that function will work now... hopefully it will be fixed soon.
