Elkano's BuffBars

EBB provides groups of statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (currently focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants place on it's weapons.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. Currently EBB limits canceling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. This will be coming in a later version.

Version 2.x is a total recode based on the Ace2 framework which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It's now possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. EBB can be configured via a dropdown menu which is accessible via chat (/ebb config), FuBar plugin or (for the group settings) by right clicking the groups anchor. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

In order to get additional bar textures and fonts for EBB simply install SharedMedia which is available for download under http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/sharedmedia.aspx

Can you add a flag in the options to filter "show only if mine"? So, for example, if there are three mages and I have a bar to show my pyroblast on my target, I wouldn't have to also see the other two mages' pyroblasts, just my own.

I've seen this option in other addons such as Pitbull 4 and Grid, and it would be AMAZING to have this on EBB. It sounds simple, but I have no idea how hard that is.

you didn't try the "Self Cast Buffs" filter as white list, did you?

For some reason the random dungeon cooldown is not showing up for me anymore on my debufflist (or any other list for that matter). Am I doing something wrong? (This is the debuff you get when leaving a dungeon that you got into by using the LFG system).

I've been using this addon for about 4 years now I think and I still love it, so I hope there's a fix for this :)

Elkano, read the below, it details how to get rid of the workaround and actually allow right-click canceling of buffs. Basically you must turn your frames into protected buff frames.

Please have a look there and make the necessary changes to ElkBuffBars to implement the "Secure" aura frames, instead of this weird out-of-combat "right click to get a button in the middle of the screen then left click that to cancel" workaround.

I believe this was already addessed by Elkano and found not to be compartible to the filtering and sorting options ebb provide.

I'm sure if you want to send him a decent implemention/"fix" he would look at it, just posting links and telling him to change his addon in a public threat is plain rude. You aren't his employer, are you?

I do not give a damn about how you find it rude. He is an author of a buff bar addon. He should strive to implement the new secure frames to keep the add-on usable, and I did take the time to research how it's done. You need to change the code to use secure aura frames. It is ridiculous that you expect me to hand him a finished solution on a silver platter. HE is the person with the intimate knowledge of how HE coded ElkBuffBars and it IS *his* job to update to secure aura frames IF he wants the add-on to remain useful.

I just saw the latest update. Right click canceling OUT OF COMBAT, so I see that is the path he has chosen and that he has no interest in the quality of his addon. Canceling buffs in combat is essential. Example: Paladin healers using divine plea to regain SOME mana and then canceling it when the action picks up again, since the -50% healing done debuff is too heavy and just wastes more mana than you regain. Another example is bubbling to avoid death, but then needing to cancel the bubble to remove the -50% damage done debuff which completely cripples your DPS. There are loads of other examples for other classes.

Cancelling buffs in combat IS a required feature of ANY bar addon, whether YOU realize it or not, and there are plenty of other bar addons. So off I go, to the plethora of other addons that actually updated to secure aura frames.

Thanks anyway Elkano, it was a superb addon while it lasted. Sad to see it die like this since using it breaks an essential part of raiding gameplay (cancelling auras in combat). Take care.

His "job"? Are you sure? So you pay him?

And its not about the case of canceling buffs, its about the form you use to you order him to do something.

He commented on the topics you linked before and said it won't be possible to implement right-clicking ic while keeping filtering and sorting won't work with what is posted in those threats.

Got a problem with the addon not always starting when logging in.
Have to relog a couple of times, and also not starting issues also occurs when switching character. Got the newest version r162

Before the patch you were able to set what you were 'tracking' via the EBB buff area - this is now gone.. am I missing something?

I dont know why, but thoose buffbars makes my game freeze for a 0.5 sec every second, like stop-motion. Without EBB game runs smoothly.

is the way right click buff removal working atm intentional, and is it just temporary until you find out how to fix it? it's annoying seeing the icon pop up in the middle of my screen..

I'm wondering too. Checked out Raven, it's decent, but no EBB. :)

Right-clicking off buffs works in Raven, though..

will you be putting an option in to turn that off? it's annoying enough for me to stop using the buff bars all together...i don't want to be clicking things twice to take a buff off.
