Elkano's BuffBars

EBB provides groups of statusbar style indicators to show (de)buffs currently affecting your char or some other units (currently focus, pet and target). For the player, it can also show indicators for temporary enchants place on it's weapons.

Due to changes Blizzard made with WoW 4.x it's no longer possible to cancel buffs without the use of secure frames. Currently EBB limits canceling of buffs to out-of-fight since using SecureAuraHeader would have required a major code restructuring. This will be coming in a later version.

Version 2.x is a total recode based on the Ace2 framework which became necessary in order to support some of the longtime wanted and suggested features. It's now possible to show different groups of bars which can be configured in many ways. Each group can be assigned an individual look and filter settings. EBB can be configured via a dropdown menu which is accessible via chat (/ebb config), FuBar plugin or (for the group settings) by right clicking the groups anchor. After setting up a group, its anchor can be hidden by alt-left clicking a bar or the anchor itself in order to lock the group in place.

I was using SimpleBuffBars for a while, but there is an anchoring issue (with bars Growing Up) with that mod so I'm back to Elkano. :) Hopefully a slightly more straightforward config setup is in the works, but the existing one isn't bad. One thing I did like about SimpleBuffBars was the auto-filtering by class type... basically "caster" buffs do not get displayed for a melee class, etc. That was nice to have for big raids with lots of buffs :)

When I get a lot of buffs, they go right off my screen. First they ignore my viewport and go down beyond that. Then the list hits the end of the screen and I can't see all of my buffs/debuffs.

Is there a way to specify a maximum number of items and have Elk's (or any other buff mods?) start a new column? I can't find anything in the options.

Ideally, I'd like to tell the addon that it can use X pixels or it is allowed up to Y icons per column. After that it would create a new column. As I put my buffs on the right side of my screen, having the option for the new column to be left of the first would also be great.

that's why it's called anchor and not title bar ^^ it's the one you move to move the bars, so simply have it shown again, move it and hide it again.

I just meet this addon but got to love it very quickly :)
Just a little question: is there a way to turn off "Blessing of Demonstration" if I have a group with an ancor ON (I want to see the titlebar) but no actual buffs? (for debuffs, or mounts & stuff like that).

It feels related to the amount of people/things/buffs/debuffs in the raid. I have only seen it once or twice in a 10man raid but I get it really often in wintergrasp raids or 25man Naxx.

I'm getting a weird bug that I only encounter during raids, all bars stop depleting really reacting in any way and sometimes disappear. It includes Quartz, SpellReminder, Pitbull and of course ElkBuffBars but EBB is the only one throwing errors. Basically I get spammed with:

"Elkano's BuffBars: [EBB] ERROR (EBB_Bar:OnUpdate) 17 - Inspiration - 3446.064000 / 15.000000"

As an example, it's not just that spell in specific, it's the tabard, moonkin aura, really just any aura. I haven't been able to pinpoint where it's coming from so I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. It really came out of no where I don't remember changing any mods.

I've been getting this same error! Everytime it happens I have to reload ui or I can't click on anything - raid windows, buffs, action bars. Mostly seems to happen at the end of an encounter right when we're passing out loot! I was going to look into a different addon, but if there's a fix I'd like to know what it is.

Same error in the middle of a fight while raiding. Totally smashes my ui and EBB spams the same msg of boothplustwo!

Keeps going till I reload ui. :/

This 'error' is more or less debug output that happens when there is something strange going on wrt timeleft and timemax of a buff.
Do you know which time it was when the bug happend?

In my experience it's completely random but only during raids. I never get it during 5 mans/battlegrounds/solo. It's not really inspiration, that was just an example, it does it for almost every buff I have I just happened to use that one.

i have the same problem: pitbull, quartz & elkano are not useable until ui reload. ag_unitframes for example is useable..

Is there any way to set up character-specific profiles? I made a large aspect bar for my hunter, which I don't want to show up on my mage (granted it will only be visible when I get Aspect of the Pack or AotW from another hunter, but it's still unusable screen space at the moment for my mage's UI).

Nevermind.. white-filtered aspects + white-filtered self cast buffs. Now it only shows aspects that I have casted, so the mage won't ever see it.

I've got a question..
Is there a way to split the buffs into columns?
For example, I have my buffs listed down the right side of the screen (under minimap), but when the list gets too long it begins pushing the buffs up into the minimap to make room for the buffs at the bottom.
I can split into columns with Satrina's, but I prefer your addon (easier to filter/order buffs).

I have a problem with an addon, I unintentionally took the symbol of
addon in the mini map, and now can not access the options that addons. there is some
way to get a reset options in the addons and so I can start to adjust again?

Oh, and I'm also interested to know if there is a way to give buffs a blue border like the debuffs have a red one.
