CowTip

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CowTip is a customizeable, tag-based tooltip addon. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the community. It is currently in beta.

CowTip isn't meant to be the smallest addon humanly possible, but it will be clean, configurable, and have the same polish I afford my other addons.

from nailertn on the ace forums the following fixes the error I reported earlier:

In Interface\AddOns\PitBull\libs\LibDogTag-3.0\Help.lua change line 403 to:

frame:SetNormalFontObject(GameFontHighlight)

from

frame:SetTextFontObject(GameFontHighlight).

Also the tooltip resets it's size to 1.0 sometimes even though it still says 0.8 (my setting) in the settings. Moving the size slider immediately sets the size to 0.8 again.

All options related to what to show in the tooltip have to be done with dog tags. Click on Text Lines to get started

Same here. No tooltip at all for people out of range is a little rough. :(

First off I wanna say great work on CowTip! Love it! But I am also not seeing grp members out of range once I updated to the latest version...no errors or anything

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. Tooltips won't display for group member sout of range.

The updated version is no longer showing tooltips for group/raid members who are out of range of you.

And also changed my tooltip font, and as said, didn't find appearance settings yet so dunno how it/I did it.

quick fix for the lack of health/power bars, the embeded.xml file is pointing to the wrong directory for LibSharedMedia-3.0. Edit the directory to read "libs\LibSharedMedia-3.0\LibSharedMedia-3.0\lib.xml"

Now there is still and issue with the dogtags help. It returns the following error:

I cant seem to find any options to change cowtip's appearance in the new version. Health\Mana bars are also gone, and cowtip complains of being unable to find LibSharedMedia-3.0 even though I have LibSharedMedia-3.0 installed as well as SharedMedia

Yes, I notice this as well, I thought it was pitbull at first but now that you have this problem as well I'm convinced its CowTip.

Mouse over of party members that are not right next me will not show any tooltip information. If I'm in Shatt and I mouse over the party members to see where they are, it will not show me anything, but if they are standing right next to me it will show a tooltip. I know the previous versions didn't have this, where's the setting to change it?

Cowtip v3.1 seems to be missing some options like tooltip scaling and showing the HP and mana bars.
