Table of Contents

Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:

- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.
- Chat Tab look-n-feel modifications
- Paging through chat tabs with the scroll wheel

i posted a few months ago about raid leader not making a sound, and no option for it. even though there are for raid chat messages. you said it was a bug. well now with the patch party leader does not also. is there any plan to add these yet? i'm missing alot of messages because i'm not alerted to them. i love the rest of this mod, but i might be forced to stop using it if i'm missing messages.

The 'color names based on class' feature works only for people on my realm. in BG and LFG tool groups, they only appear grey. How can i change this so they too are colored by their class?

This feature now also exists in-game, right-click your chat tab, go to Settings and then check the little box behind every channel you want to use class colours for. Works for me, anyhow. =)

And then go and customize it for any chat frame you have active. Make sure Enable Borders/Background is checked, though.
For more border textures you can also install SharedMedia.

Is there a way to suppress talent spam when you switch specs? I've not been able to find one in Chatter.

How do I change the font size in the chat edit box? Mine is huge...much larger than the standard scrolling chat font size.

You can do that without this AddOn, too.
Just right-click the tab of that chat windows, click to Unlock it, and then you can drag it by that tab.

Inability to link items even with a WTF delete and even testing Chatter as the only mod active. It still prohibits any linking. Turning it off linking resumes as normal.

I've got my guild chat assigned to another chatframe.
Now that i've started using Chatter, the Guild Message of the Day does not appear anymore in my guildchat, it was appearing when i still used the standard blizzard chat windows.
Is this a bug, or did i miss a setting ?

I'm not utterly sure this relates, but it may. When I link profs, quests etc to Trade or General, most people see jibberish. It looks normal to me and is clickable to me, but to others, it looks crazy. Any help is appreciated.

I seemed to have fixed by deleting my Saved Variables. Tsk, I should have thought of that first. Thank you for a lovely mod. :)
