Table of Contents

Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:

- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.
- Chat Tab look-n-feel modifications
- Paging through chat tabs with the scroll wheel

you just need to uncheck the channel - i suppose.

because i cant get the warnings to work at all, what did you do to make them work?

Or you could just go into the chat settings -> global channels and uncheck CrbB1 and CrbZ101411 so that they don't print in the chat box. It isn't anything intelligible anyhow.

When the "Disable Enable Buttons" option is unchecked, the regular scroll buttons do not reappear in the Chat windows.

BTW, this is a very poorly worded option.

so..... is anyone answering peoples questions? Im getting frustrated with my problem which i posted. the only option i found was output to and i selected none, but it still makes the sound, literally every second. It's starting to drive me nuts. Please help!

Things to try alone or in combination:

1) Disable Highlights
2) Disable the Show SCT Message option (SCT is shot for Scrolling Combat Text, addons like MikScrollingBattleText)
3) Remove keyword "val" (Highlights > Options Tab > Remove Word)
4) Set the "Sound File" option to None (Highlights > Options Tab)
5) Uncheck the "Use Sound" option (Highlights > Options Tab)
6) Set all channels under Custom Channel Sounds tab (also under Highlights) to None. Make sure to scroll down to see them all.
7) On the Highlights > Output Tab uncheck everything there.

Did that fix your problem? I'm willing to bet #6 is the key as you probably set a sound to play every time something is said in the Trade channel. Sounds like you have a combat text addon installed too which means #7 might apply too. Hope this helps.

tyvm for reply, i did disable the sounds and "val", i checked #6 and #7 and everything was on none, so im not sure why it was showing genaral, trade, party chat, ect. b ut its not showing anymore so thats good, i did try one more time to add a sound under highlights - options, to see if it would work for only "val" but it still constinatly makes the sound when nobody is talking, not sure about that either, but i guess i will just leave it turned off :) lol
again, thank you very much for your time, i appreciate it.
oh and btw i do have mik's scrolling battle text installed.

ok not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but I have a keyword set up in the highlights section on chatter to where if someone says val, it makes a sound and pops up on screen... well its been spamming with the same sound, looks like someone's name and just a bunch of numbers after, and this is even when nobody is saying anything on any chat channel. It also seems to bee spamming every message on general chat now. please help, Thanks in advance.

Mousewheel Scroll does not seem to be saving the setting correctly. Whenever I log in I cannot use the mousewheel to scroll through my chat log. In options it is selected but I have to un-enable and re-enable it before it will work again.

I found the issue. I had mousewheel scrolling enabled through Minimalist which was causing a conflict. Disabled it in Minimalist and it now works upon login with chatter.
