Chatter
Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:
- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.
- Chat Tab look-n-feel modifications
- Paging through chat tabs with the scroll wheel

Posted Jul 21, 2010i had incredible high loading times when logging into a char the first time after starting wow (reloading the ui toke also some time, but wasnt that bad).
I did hunt it down to Chatter beeing the issue, after disabling it(only chatter!) its still a tad slow because of the other addons i have, but the loadtime significantly increases. Any suggestions?

Posted Jul 20, 20102) Ok so it was a simple fix after all. Just had to disable chatter so I could see the "general" tab on the default chat box and then select "reset chat windows."

Posted Jul 20, 20101) It won't allow me to resize from anywhere except the bottom right, even with the check box checked.
2) While dragging my bottom right corner the left side and top of my chat pane have gone off the screen and I can't for the life of me refit it to my screen.
Please help... I'm going crazy!!!

Posted Jul 19, 2010Maybe this was recently fixed, but i had this problem for some time that shift-scrolling was not working. Today i discovered by accident that in WoW settings--> interface-->game tab-->social, "Enable mouse wheel scrolling" was ON. This is Blizzard's setting that allows you to scroll in a chatwindow, but it interferes with chatter's scrolling. So set the Blizzard scrolling to OFF and suddenly Chatter's shift-scroll works again :)

Posted Jul 16, 2010Hi =D I love chatter, but there is one thing bothering me! Could you implement an option to disable the chatbox from lightening up when you hover over it ? :)
