Table of Contents

Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:

- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.

I'm having the same problem with it removing only the LAST letter of everyone's name. Class colors have been enabled through Blizz chat options for several patches, yes, but it seems Chatter is disrupting them now or something.

Ok so aside from class colors not working, on every [Soandso] Has come online message it cuts off the last letter of their names. It doesn't matter how long their name is it cuts off the last letter.
Frolderbig becomes Frolderbi
Arctos becomes Arcot
Tholador becomes Tholado
So you should get the idea. Not sure why it is doing this as I have never seen it before.
Also it does not remember its size or position :(

Class colors are enabled through the Blizzard chat options. The feature for this in Chatter is obsolete now.

Am I missing something? I'm used to scrolling instantly to the bottom of a window (when I'm scrolled way back reading something) by holding shift and mousewheel down. As soon as I upgraded to 1.2.1 from 1.2, it stopped doing this. Is there a setting I can't find, or is it broken?

ok i pushed up a fix for scrolling and timestamps to be more sane and work as you check/uncheck the boxes in the blizz options.

I have looked through the Blizzard settings and it appears my window background no longer changes from black to transparent and then back to black when a mouseover occurs. Is this just the patch or a setting I am missing?

Any idea about the "Player Names" module not working yet? I mentioned it before but didn't get any response so I was just making sure it didn't slip too far down before anyone saw it.

Thats the biggest thing I miss, not seeing names colored by class in my chat, it makes it so much easier inviting for groups knowing exactly what everyone is who sends me a tell :p

Tinolyn, the issue is with the blizz disable scrolling, when it does that it changes the cvar, then afterwards it loops all frames and removes mouse scroll hooks. im working on a fix.

I'm getting the same issue as Jehricka. It does the same thing when you do /who. Shows the whole name minus the last letter. If you don't know what it is supposed to be, you can't /w them or anything. I assume its a bug since I couldn't find anything that would do that in the options.

When people in guild talk it shows their name in brackets and something from their guild note in brackets after it. How do I make it so it just shows the name and leaves out the guild note?

I updated Chatter this morning and, unfortunately, there's a little issue with character names. Instead of displaying the whole name when someone logs online, it displays the whole name except for the last letter... It's driving me bonkers. For example, my character name "Caiilyn" would appear as "Caiily"... Any wayto fix it through the settings, or is it a bug?

CLASS COLOUR = Enable it though blizzard chat options!
COPY PASTE = Right click on tab and then last one on list - "Copy Text"

I do have one suggestion I would like to make. Is it possible to make more chat boxes stack other than only stacking them on the general tab.

For example I want a real id tab and my combat text stacked together on a different part of the screen from the general tab.

I assume most people have been commenting on this but I figured I'd give a list of things that are broken.

1. Class Colors is broken for every window that isn't the General window. I have a second Chat window and names do not color according to class but when I swap to the General window they are.

2. Class color doesn't work for PM's either.

3. Copy and paste option isn't there.

4. I have my Chatter setup to only show levels if a player is below 80. That too is not working.
