Chatter
Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:
- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.
- Chat Tab look-n-feel modifications
- Paging through chat tabs with the scroll wheel
Does this addon have sound ability and choices for custom channels?
There is an indentation problem in the current .pkgmeta. The last 2 line of externals are overindented.
URL detection is not complete. Consider the following URL:
www.net-fu.org/fdm/wow.html
This is a valid URL, but detection ends with [www.net], deciding to end on -.
See http://www.osix.net/modules/article/?id=586 for a very powerful REGEX for URL's. It might be more than you need.

I hope this info helps on error msg.
The release needs to be tagged beta or higher. To be posted on curse this is developers site not met to be publicly used like curse is.
2. The "Raid leader" channel can't be renamed.
3. Can I disable renaming for certain channels such as whisper ?
I would like to have chat locked but with that I'm loosing ability to switch between tabs.
R211 and other recent updates are not pushing over to the Curse download site. The Download is still pushing out r206, it works, but is there a reason why the newer revisions are not available to the public? Trying to figure out whether its just a beta kind of thing or the Curse site needs a boot to the head.
That's why: Whom could I send the deDE.lua to? Sorry, but it's horrible, a bit...
Discussion thread is here
i got an issue when zoning (ie after a loading screen) : the font size resets itself. i have to open the chat fong config screen, to disable et re-enable the chat font management by chatter, and everything is back. i've also set up the edit box in "free floating, locked" mode, but the position does not seem to be saved. i've tried to change it in the savedvariables/chatter.lua for the profile i'm using, but it will still be at the same pos. however, this mod is really handy, providing simple but efficient features :)
edit : found out that i had another add-on still active that was also managing the chat frames :) sorry for the inconvenient !
