Chatter
Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:
- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.
- Chat Tab look-n-feel modifications
- Paging through chat tabs with the scroll wheel
Got a problem for wisp from [BN:From], seems doesn't work, anyone got this problem?
Any update on the player colors and brackets change? Changing these settings seem to have no effect:
@slipfoot
with 1.5.3 Pet Battles are working again - thanks ;)
Hey, thanks for the 7.1 updates, copy chat also seems to be not working even on the alpha build, the textbox window it brings up is blank. Edit: Changing settings in Player Names also doesn't seem to do anything, since updating all names in chat have square brackets around them no matter how I change the options for brackets/separator.
@Spomo
Same here, even with older versions which i tried from backups.
@Vampyrate , class colors are VERY LONG since a feature of default Blizzard chat settings. Enable them there.
@Yama1291
I'm having the exact same issue, also trying to just press 1, 2 or 3 etc brings up a .lua error.. when disabling chatter and reloading the interface the buttons return to normal - I''ll post the error next time I'm online :)
Thank you for your work! its much appreciated!
I too seem to be unable to pet-battle or hide the "social" button in the current release. this is how the pet-battle frame looks at the moment: http://prnt.sc/czlml5
In the most recent update, all of my class colored people are gone. My entire guild is now back to the default color when they used to be class colored. Any ideas?
It appears that the social button is now called the "quickjointoastbutton" probably re-named as a part of the new 7.1 feature Quick Join (allowing you to join the in-progress queues of friends). I assume that button re-name is what's preventing Chatter from hiding the button.
@JustDanceDM
The same issue here. All buttons are disabled/hidden, except the social button. There is no way to hide this button.
Latest WoW Relase 7.1 with Chatter Version 1.5.2
Having trouble with the disable button (social in particular) and Chatter is wreaking havoc on pet battles. I have to disable Chatter and only Chatter for pet battle UI to work.
Love this addon and am hopeful for a fix.
@Vulpesia
I am getting this same error when trying to pet battle. I need to disable the addon to complete pet battles.
Problem with Auto Whisper
Hi, when it is enabled, the very first whisper is lost forever, the second and the following ones are opened in a new tab instead, as expected.
The latest update for some reason that makes zero sense causes the ability buttons for pet battles to be unusable. Not quite sure how a chat mod manages to screw with it when none of even my non-updated pet mods and other UI/bar mods don't, but after slowly turning things on after disabling all, Chatter is clearly the culprit! Here's hoping it gets a proper fix as I do love this mod, but can't have it screwing with the ability to pet battle!
With the update to 1.5.2, all the buttons are disabled how I like except for the Social O button. I noticed it just chills on its own outside of the window the others are in. Would this be possible to disable in the future?
With the release of 7.1, it looks like the Disable Buttons module does not seem to work anymore. It does not disable the scroll/real id buttons attached to the side of the chat window, nor does it hide these buttons upon selection.
Cannot use Chatter with pet battles, it bugs the interface and you cannot use any abilities.
After 7.1 I get the following error when logging in and after reloading my UI. The scroll buttons and the new social button are also no longer hidden.
