This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

Tried like hell to post this on Curse, but it appears the add comment feature on curse is broke. Coming here instead to ask these questions.
Will cartographer be making use of the upcoming 3.1 instance maps? Will these maps provide party/raid member locations? Will mods like cart be able to use coordinates for notes and waypoints inside instances? Thanks for any answers.

Hold shift and roll your mousewheel up. The whole map of WG fades out if you have it set that way.

Huh? Wintergrasp is a world map. Are you talking about Vault of Archavon instance map? If so, it's there in the latest Cartographer version.

I think what they're asking (because I have an issue with this too) is should there be a Wintergrasp Map? While in Northrend I can see the area's towers and the castle locations, as well as party members and where PVP is taking place, but there is no physical terrain map that will show. While not in Northrend, if I navigate to Wintergrasp all I can see is the note I created to show me where the flightpath is. It's as if the place is invisible.

Must be something on your end. Wintergrasp has an actual map for me and displays without issue whether I am in it or if I navigate to the Wintergrasp map while elsewhere in the game.

I have an issue with Cartographer where the map resets to the current zone within a few seconds of browsing maps. If I am in Stormwind, for instance, and I want to browse to the map of another zone, I select it from the menu and it displays. A few seconds later, the map changes back to Stormwind.
In instances the behavior is worse because it will not even stay on the current instance. It keeps resetting to the current zone. Inside Strat, for instance, when I hit the "m" key to bring up Cartographer, the instance map comes up. A few seconds later, the map changes to Eastern Plaguelands. It is very annoying, as I cannot hover over the bosses for very long to figure out where I must go.
Any ideas? I am using the most current stable version of 2.4. I have all the WoW expansions installed. Other addons are Carbonite Quest, Gatherer, Auctioneer, Tankpoints, Armory, Bagnon, Dominos, GroupCalendar, ItemRack, RatingBuster, Recipe Radar, Omen Threat Meter, and Titan Panel. All of these have been installed via the Curse Client. I have disabled using Carbonite Quest map when the "m" key is pressed.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

For some reason when I try to download, it brings up Cartographer r-2300. Isn't this supposed to be 2.4?

That is just Cartographer's release number. 2300/2.4 is the current release of it.

Is there a way to Export all my notes into a single file that can be made available for downloading (and subsequent Importing) on my guild's website? If so, how is it done? If not, why not? :D

why can we still not click on dalaran on the map, to see the dalaran map yet?
like when your looking at elwynn forest, you click on sw, and it shows it. the only way to see dalaran via cartographer right now is by drop down menu, which is a bit of a hassle ;P
