This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

$1.25 a month for a uniform and coherent addon that replaces tons of free ones that has support and nigh instant bug fixes does not suck.

It does if you pay for it. That's all LUA code, basically open to the public. I'd prefer that addons stay free and I not be forced to pay more on top of my existing WoW subscription, no matter how cheap it is.

Curious thing keeps happening lately. Sometimes I cannot right-click the map to 'zoom-out'. Its as if I'm clicking through the map (like, it makes me move my camera around). However, sometimes I can still find a sweet-spot that still works but and it only occurs part of the time.

This is on Vista 64-bit.

I found that ALT+right click solves that problem.
I however cant add mapnotes anymore.

how come on some instances cartographer does not show the instance map.

for example: scarlet monastery library and armory (didn't check the others).

Use ErrorMonster, it'll silence the errors, but they may still persist.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO MAKE THIS STUPID ADDON STOP SPAMMING!! I constantly get the error that my message has been blocked. I traced it to Cartography. Its very annoying and even the stupid Beta does it.

Cheers,

I experience issues with the mapnotes feature - I cant edit or delete them (no error, simply nothing happens). Additionally, when adding a note, the dialog window is broken (frame is not showing). Only when clicking somewhere beside the textboxes it appears.

Another map addon Ive installed is Gatherer, but I disabled the icons on the worldmaps.

Any hints?

This addon spams all the time and the server I play on CONSTANTLY shows a warning that my message was blocked. It is very very annoying and disruptive to everything. I can't see what people write in the chat because I only see those errors. Not cool guys.

Wow. i got a crazy cascade failure from Dailies and cartographer i believe. im not too sure what did it, but i was looking at my map and all of a sudden a tooltip popped up with the dailies for icecrown, and then would stick and disappear after a few seconds, then would show up again on mouseover of something, then stick for a few more seconds, then my wow froze as it had a cascade failure i think. 19 errors in total. things are still working, but i got spammed with fail things from bugsack. I have them all copied to a text file. PM me with where you want them sent.

Having an issue with the way point arrow not pointing in the right direction or even updating it's position. It points in the opposite direction of the way point. Anyone know the cause?

Hey i have an error...
Lately my world map has been covered up in areas i havent explored. I thought this addon was suppossed to stop that. Im not a tard and have reinstalled, logged out logged back in etc etc
I just want it to work again if thats possible :D

Where are the details of Notherend zones, BGs, instances and raids going to be added? Be nice to know the loot in 80 raids and the drop rates.

For that I use Atlas Loot Enhanced.
Cartographer is meant to be a map replacement with some additional plugin's made by others, not a heavy to drag all in one mod.
So if you want optional stuff, its already there, no need to add all this into cartographer and make it as hard to drag as auctioneer/questhelper..
