Cartographer 3.0

Table of Contents

This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.

The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game.

Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, "experimental" version of Cartographer.

I had a problem using this last week. Somehow, every single zone on the map was showing the two highlight circles that show up when you "zoom" out all the way on the normal map where it lets you choose between the Outland and Azeroth maps.

It made it very difficult to use because I couldn't drag the map when the circles were showing.

I don't know if I made it clear enough to understand that, but I hope so. Sadly, I don't have any screens since I didn't think about it at the time.

i know i'm not helping seeing as this HAS been reported before....but....please...dalaran....
just do a small update...nothing special...just add a map of dalaran. Please. Great addon. Seriously. I can't find anything else that i love as much...but i've started looking just because i miss Dalaran.

I know this is supposed to be experimental. But Northrend is an overlapping mess. The Notes are only part functional and the project has had no attention since 1 November. *frustrated*

I'm still waiting for a Cartographer3 replacement of Cartographer's Cartographer_Mining add on. Also Is it not possible for the instance maps to actually show your current location and heading with the little arrow like the above ground maps do? That would be a big help.

GatherMate is a great replacement for Cartographer _Mining and _Herbalism plugins. Does exactly the same thing only a bit cleaner.
Also available is a GatherMate plugin _CartImport which can be used to import old data from above plugins.

As for player position in instance maps - not possible since instances do not provide coordinates.

Yes, Gathermate works with Cartographer3 just fine. I'm using them together right now.

I would most definitely really love to see another update for this addon. The current version seems a little buggy in regards to the Northrend zones. I don't even mind the missing maps for instances and Dalaran much. It's just the way it displays the standard outdoor zones in Northrend. Alot of times a large portion of the zone will be fogged out until I move my mouse to another zone first, then back to the zone I'm in.

I have a request....

With the instance maps, can they be made layered so that we can transition between different "levels" in the map and have notes level specific so that things are easier to understand when in instances like BRD/LBRS/UBRS etc

QuestHelper works fine with my Cart3. It's worked since I replaced Cart with Cart3 2-3 months ago.

27/11/08:
All menus working correctly, including POI menus.
Notes icons can now be correctly assigned.

Added map of Dalaran

Two files, due to the attachment limit here.
Unzip both to the Addons folder.

NOTE 1: For those having problems with zip files, this is due to the way IE handles these attachments. It seems to put a 'wrapper' around the original zip, and renames the original without an extension. I simply loaded it into my zip utility, extracted the file, put a .zip extension on it, and all was fine.

NOTE 2: This will not work if you have already installed the 'Fan' update. You will need to do a clean install of Carto3, then apply these patches."

Except WOWACE is a total dead-end. Cannot register, cannot download. Can someone fix this plz?

Would be awesome to have an updated version. I got used to having a map like this with Carbonite and now I can't find anything like it.
