Cartographer 3.0

Table of Contents

This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.

The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game.

Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, "experimental" version of Cartographer.

Okay I found the problem which isn't really a problem at all, it's in the configuration settings. So for anybody else that gets the blue screen when you zoom in too close, then change the settings from far to near for "Texture Change Zoom" and you'll be able to zoom in much closer without the screen turning blue. I've got mine now set to near (as far right as the slider will go) and the maps of places such as stormwind now take up the entie map. Works great now.

This is in response to not only my own post 2 posts down, but a couple others in this thread that have had this issue, I hope they come back and get to read this to fix this annoying way the map works.

Carbonite has map very similar to this one, I dont like it, better to have the old version of Cartographer workabe too :) i like it very much

I really like the way this one works, however... When in places like Stormwind, and I zoom in the map to see the surroundings on the map, it ges larger and larger and then goes gray right before the map would become of a useful size for me to view the map.

So basically, zooming in the map turns cartographer 3 gray (you can still see the players icon arrow however) but the actual map it'self just turns to gray and is no longer usable. Zooming out and the map comes back into view, however it's at such a distance away that again it's not usable.

To fix your problem with zooming in and it changing to purple is to change the "Texture Change Zoom" under the Cartographer options All the way to Near so it doesnt go to the mini map style map.

I hate to complain... but honestly, I'd much rather have the old style map back. Maybe with this as an option, but the flashing and changing map areas are kind of a pain, and having to zoom in and out for what I want to do...

I'm not getting Nerator's crashes (am on enGB realm), but I am getting the same "zoomed in to blank dark blue map" bug that other folks have reported.

The old version (2.0) had more features, and I especially miss the Quests module as it was extremely useful, so please keep working on that one :)

when i'm trying to enter world with Cartographer 3.0 on, WoW crashes with error #132. Tried with Cartographer 2.2 - succesfully entered world (ruRU realm)

Should remove all of the Cartographer files before you extract Cartographer3 into your folder, it sounds like an issue i had with my freind. It fixed it for him once all of the older files where gone

I personally do not like this newer and "experimental" version. I like to be able to click in and out with great ease with Cartagropher. I works with 3.0.2 great and I like it more

plus, when I zoom in close to get the close-in "Google maps" type of view, it doesn't work and the screen just goes blank (a dark blue color). What happened to the Google maps view of Azeroth?

I can confirm the EPL problem - it's off by more than a tiny bit - it's quite significant.

I loved cartographer before the the latest wow patch!
but now I can't get the latest 2.version to work right and the "experimental" version works sort of I can zoom out (I love that) but when I zoom in like with before the patch it blacks out and that is annoying and rather useless

please fix it please I want my old cartographer back wahwahwah

Not usre which one I liked better. I think that this one has some potential but it is missing the drop down menus for the Zones that I laved about the old one. ALso, I talked to a guard to find something in Org and the flag did not show up on the map. I had to disable the addon to see it.

I love this mod, but have multiple issues with it. All the minimap textures aren't working. Only certain ones when you zoom in far enough.

Also, I don't seem to have ANY of the instance dungeons at all. Is there something else I need to download to get those?

I love this addon! I've used it for months without problems (before patch ... and most of those are fixed now). It's simple and functional. It may not be to everyone's tastes, but I find it does *just* what I need: scroll-wheel zoom, resize and position window, Gatherer integration, QuestHelper integration, notes (I'm having a problem selecting any icon other than a star).

Thanks for your hard work! Look forward to wrinkles getting ironed out.

oki doki all downloaded and installed with the curse client but the add-on is not working....why??? what on earth do i have to do....i downloaded it at least 50 times and its the same
put some instructions on it!!!
