Cartographer 3.0

Table of Contents

This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.

The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game.

Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, "experimental" version of Cartographer.

Keep pushing the envelope. This is a remarkable step you've taken with this addon.

I appreciate all the supportive comments in here for the author - I'm not slamming the product, just trying to get it to work. I've been using it for a long time and I'd like to continue to do so.

This is a fresh install - all addons were nuked.
When I load for the first time, there is no interface button on my mini-map, nor does any option for Cart appear in fubar, or in the add-on preferences.

I finally got the cart interface for the options to come-up with /cartographer --- and I was able to check the box to separate cart from the main map, reloaded my ui, and got...the default maps.

When I un-check the separate box, I go back to where I started in that the "M" key and clicking on the world-map button are both unresponsive.

I have gathermate and carbonite quest running as companion mods. Nothing different from the pre-3.0.2 patch.

So why can't cart initialize and display? Anyone have any ideas?

You do realize you can detach the cartographer from your original map, right? This mod is fucking brilliant. Enjoy it and be happy someone is taking the time to make things for your use. Selfish, whiney bastards.

I like it. Although I'd like to see some of the old features inc into this version, such as mining and herb nodes as well as quests.

I think the design concept of cartographer 3 is just brilliant. I really hope that ckknight will continue to build on this idea. I think it's great and I really start loving it. It's like an really advanced minimap for me. I would go this far that this approach to a worldmap solution is so good, it could be one of the best addons so far.

Keep up the good work ckknight - the addon scene needs you.

I was using cartographer in the past, but I really like this Map addon (all the zoom, detail and resizing map stuff...)
The only thing I miss is a quick way to click-and-jump into other continents. I don't like this menu-style-like selecting of zones.

Tried this out, nice beta, and looks like it could be good one day.

Things missing:
*Foglight
*Zone Info
*Instance Maps

Bugs:
*Zooming in doesn't always work properly, shows blue screen most of the time.
*Occasionally the player marker jumps around.
*"Go To" thing doesnt do anything.
*Config menu appears behind map.

Suggestions:
*World Map view, similar to the default map when zoomed out.
*Open Instances/Cities/BG's in a seperate window/tab.

I love Cart 3......latest version is kinda messed up.

Texture change zoom works with outland but not Kalmidor or eastern kingdoms, when it changes from minimap style to the high res art work its blank, like the textures are missing

I think the reason most people liked the old cartographer is that they dont like the google like map, if they did I guess they would already be using Carbonite.. So this is a plea to the author of this addon. Make it back to the old one... :)

I can't seem to go to "Go to" zones, battlegrounds, and instances.
Please fix this.

Other than Cartographer 3.0 not functioning correctly at the moment, i do like the feel of this new version and look forward to using it to its full potential once the problems a fully resolved.

Please abandon 3.0 and update 2.0-version in the future. For now i have to stay with this version:
