History

AtlasLoot was originally created by Pernicius as a plugin for Atlas and contained a handful of raid loot tables to browse. Unfortunately, Pernicius was unable to maintain the mod, so Daviesh took over and renamed it to AtlasLoot Enhanced to provide a distinction between the two versions. Since that time, AtlasLoot has grown to cover every loot table for every boss, every item set, PvP Items and items for every reputation faction. In January 2010 Hegarol took over the project from Daviesh. Finally, in 2014/2015 Lag completely rewrote the entire addon for AtlasLoot v8.

What is Atlasloot

AtlasLoot Enhanced is an UI mod allowing for loot tables of bosses to be browsed whenever needed within the game.

Below is list of custom modules which are developed and maintained by different author teams.

Features

Atlas Integration: You can easily link to Atlas map browser if your current visited instance loot table has a corresponding map provided in Atlas.
Dressing Room: Control-click items to show them in the Dressing Room.
Price Preview: See the prices for token items like PvP rewards.
Filter: Filter loot tables based on your class or set up your filter manually (NYI).
Instance Loot: All instance loot from every Dungeon (Normal and Heroic) and Raid.
Faction and PvP rewards
Collection Items: Armor Sets (Dungeon, Tier and Crafted), Mounts, Companions, Tabards, Legendary items and more.
Season and World Events: Skettis, Abyssal Council, Ethereum Prison, Feast of Winter Veil, Hallow's End, Brewfest, etc.

To Do

Add skill / source to crafting
Wishlist: Alt-click on any item to add it to the wishlist, alt-clicking on an item in the wishlist deletes it. There are buttons added to the Atlas panel and the loot browser to open the wishlist.
Partial Searching: Allows searching the whole AtlasLoot database for an item where you only know part of the name.
Quicklooks: Bind up to ten loot tables to 'Quicklook' buttons, allowing you to jump to them with only one click.

Slash Commands

'/al' or '/atlasloot' by itself brings up the loot browser.
'/atlasloot options' brings up the options menu.
'/atlasloot reset' resets the last viewed loot table (fixes disconnects when opening AtlasLoot) and moves all draggable frames back to the middle of the screen.
'/atlasloot mmb' toggles the minimap button on / off.
'/atlasloot togglebg' toggles background pictures on / off.

My mod is issued under the GPL, anyone can distribute it (and WoWMatrix is). My issue them was always that they were leaching bandwidth from other sites, which they seem to be moving away from now.

For some reason, the "show 25 man" button doesn't show up for me. I have the latest version and I have tried removing all mods that likely could interfere with Atlasloot Enhanced.

This is almost always interference from another mod. Recently, the most common cause has been Tabard-o-matic.

While the new look isn't terrible (and I rather like the portion where the addon name is) the yellow-orangish color quite clashes with the purple-blue interior... and I'd rather have the purple-blue than the other.

So pleaseplease let me keep my girly mindset of "everything must match and be pretty" and add in the option. :D

I can probably make that an option. Personally, I quite like the new look, the old one was just a cobbled collection of Blizz art from when I started learning how to generate a UI from xml.

As you guessed, none of this is as easy as it sounds. There have been some discussions on the team for dealing with multiple wishlists. The issues are creating a UI allowing you to manage the wishlists, how to you easily add items to the right wishlist, etc. The simple one click to add and delete items would not cut it any more. The other problem is that I have to keep it all intuitive for new people to the mod, if I keep making it more and more complex I alienate new users.

BTW, I do check everywhere I post the mod most days, you don't need to post the same comment in multiple places :-)

been using atlasloot for a while, never had any problems with it, and still don't, but recently, as i've been progressing thru naxx 10/25, and into ulduar now, i've discovered the wishlist, while nice, there are some things i wonder if it'd be possible to add to it. namely the following 2 things:

1) In the Select loot table dropdown, have the wishlist there at the bottom perhaps, and the subtable could be:
a) any zone you have an item from your wishlist
b) any slot you have a gear wished for (IE: Feet, legs etc)

2) the ability to priortize items in a given slot type (ie, i want spark of hope more then i want the egg of mortal essence)

not sure if this is really possible, probably would be a real pain to code, but i mentioned this while a few guildies and i were going thru some of the gear, and they all thought this kind of feature would be amazing.

personally, i'm all for something along the lines of this:

idea 1 w/ this kind of format.
Select Loot Table -> WishList -> Zone
Select Subtable -> (gear slot)

content of those menus would be based on items in the wishlist :p

idea 2 would be more like a click drag and drop, so you could just grab the item holding down a key like ctrl, since shift and mouseover shows you what you currently have, and alt removes things from the wishlist ;)

small point.. is it possible to make updates retain prior settings? I always set the browser to 85% size and every time I update it it's reset to 100% on all toons. GAAH

It should keep your settings, if not I'll have a look at it. Note that ATLAS (different author) always wipes your setting on a new version.

I have had a similar problem where it changes the position of my minimap icon. Not a huge deal, just an annoyance.

New Version:

Major Ulduar update in this version as well as a very classy re-skin of the loot browser thanks to Lag. Many UI objects have been made bigger to accomodate non-English text, but as a side effect, those buttons no longer fit where they were, so you can find stuff like the 10/25 man toggle buttons at the bottom of loot pages instead of the top.

Jeez, I wish some people would READ, before posting. The author already said there will be an update tomorrow...
and yet, we still get questions about wether or not this mod will be updated soon...

Daviesh,you are doing one hell of a job on this UI bud. I have been using atlasloot ever sense you released the very first version.Keep up the good work and i do hope you get some rewards from curse for all that hard work.
