ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

Thank you so much! So lost without this addon, lol.
In reply to Lemmoros:
thank you
I wonder why searching in curseforge for ark doesn't return anything ?
Dos this works for WOTLK classic ? If yes how can I install if as Curseforge search doesn't seem to like it ?
Thanks.
In reply to emanueol:
Curseforge doesn't return anything because it's looking for 3.4.0 version addons, and Ark hasn't been updated for Wrath yet.
Please remove the addon startup message, or add an option to disable it.
Almost everything is working in the Wrath beta for me. The only exception is rules for Equipment Manager sets do not appear to be working.
For example, I have a Equipment Manager set called "Prot"
I created a Rule in Ark with the following parameters:
Rule: 1002
Order: 100
Description: Tank Gear
Formula: outfit( "Prot" )
I have enabled the Rule and added it to Bar 15
With Edit Mode enabled, I can Right Click Bar 15, then mouse over Rule --> [1002] Tank Gear [15] --> Status shows Enabled.
The tooltip on the items show: Equipment Sets: Prot
The items resides in my default bag space, Bar 1.
In reply to Ragedaug:
Can confirm exact same behaviour with outfit rules related to new in game Equipment Manager.
In reply to Olayes:
I've found Ark Rules do work with ItemRack, so I've had to go back to that addon. Just would be nice if they worked with the in game equipment manager.
Reporting in from the WOTLK beta that everything seems to work fine.
Will keep you updated if I run into any problems.
My search screen has a lot of weird stuff at the top when I try to search
Whenever I try to find something, it displays it like this:
https://imgur.com/eHs1eU0
its normal, i havent received the data for the items so i cant tell what they are. they should eventually populate unless its a dead item on another character
Hi guys.
My issue s for the classic version TBC.
You can see from the below screenshot my bag interface display.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1B7Pb2P2DPgTie6780xQ8fLrMUT_vUl_7/view?usp=sharing
From below screenshot you can see the sorting menu.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1B7i1qLJpciDNgUGjMaD0U0Z1OnU88Oeh/view?usp=sharing
Although ı have selected "Item name" as the last of the sorting criteria.
It doesn't work properly.
On the left screen same fruit and waters split..
Is it a bug or normal?
looks like a bug unless you havent actually made that sort order the default, or assigned it to the bar
I was looking to see if Ark already allows for this, but since greys will be transmoggable soon, is there a rule or filter to block auto-selling grey gear that you have not learned as transmog. I just wanted to jump ahead and get my vaults full.
not until they become part of transmog. ie the game cant tell me if youve learnt the appearance from a grey already or not
best bet is to turn off the autosell for the junk category, or create a rule for greys to put them elsewhere.
Hey
Thanks for an awsome bag addon.
When i assign things like covernant anima to one bag it doesnt move the item for that bag it moves the backpack, bag slot to the bag im assigning it to.
It didnt do this before last update is this the way its surpose to work?
yes, thats normal. AI doesnt touch your actual bags just displays them differently
Is anyone getting a TSM conflict? My TSM profession window (which loads at login) glitches out and constantly flashes with ArkInventory enabled.
Is there a ruletype that can sort or filter by usable by class?
im using usable() or equip() but im not sure how to get it to filter by class
i have a bag that catches soulbound items, but i only want it show stuff my current class can USE, and have everything else going to my YEET bag, which catches sb stuff that is not usable. problem is, the usable bag is catching everything a toon can put on, so plate is getting cloth, and various weapons not suited to classes (agi daggers on druid for example).
i used to have rules_morerules but that broke a while ago so now im stuck. ty!
nothing for class wearability.
for the moment your best bet would be using the type and subtype functions, eg type(4) and subtype(4) will give you armor thats plate, type(2) and subtype(7,8) will give you one and two handed swords, that sort of thing. just use the debug values to work out what you need
