ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Thanks, I love this addon!!! Just another not from 5.1 mess, probably tooltip related. I get this, I think when I disabled Ark I got this.

will be fixed next version, i never thought to check if ai was disabled
oh thank jeebus you've fixed it. I had to use another bag addon for the past 24 hours and it was AWFUL :P Let's never do that again.
OHHH DEAR LORD OF MODS THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not odd, a side effect from from the quick fix i did (just removing it) which has allowed the blizzard default to now appear
the reason that the NormalTexture was set to nothing is because thats where the default background for the blizzard bags goes, i dont use it so set it to nothing as i didnt want theirs going over the top of mine (which its now doing), quality colour borders probably dont work either.
i need to sort out whats the best way to really fix it (theres a couple of things i can do) and it should be back to normal next release
Odd issue since yesterday. I have the item borders set to ArkInventory Square 2 (and have for a long time). I noticed from logging in for the first time yesterday that the item borders reset to the default blizzard borders. Still today after the update it's the same. It seems as though the border is actually changing to what I set it to but the default blizzard border still shows. Very weird. I tried making a brand new character and only have ArkInventory turned on and this was still the case.
this is fixed in 3.03.23
Thank you SO much for fixing the green. In my TOP 3 MUST HAVE addons! I'm totally handicap without this one.
Perhaps this busting in 5.1 was a good thing (and the fast response to fix it). I realized how important this addon has become to me over time and it reminded me to support it with a donation. Thanks for your work!
You can do it with a rule without issues. In outfitter, make sure you turn on the wow one as well for that set (on the right side, the W symbol should be bright, not dim). Then simply do a rule with outfit(NAME)
That doesn't work for me. I have the outfits like you said, turned on in the WoW outfitter... Have the rule...
outfit(DPS)
Moves nothing there.
Nevermind, I fixed it by putting it like this...
outfit("DPS")
Thanks for the update. I was so lost. On a side note...I checked out Adibags that someone suggeted below. I really love the plugin they have for outfitter that puts gear from outfitter into it's own little bag/category. How hard would it be to integrate something like that into ArkInventory?
The green texture bug forced me to look at my unmodded bags for the first time in years. Boy, what a jumbled mess!!
Thanks for the update!
You have no idea how upset I was when my most important addon didnt work today lol. tyvm for the fast update!
3.03.21 fixes the green, and hopefully didnt break anything else
Thanks for the update. Arkinventory is probably the most essential addon I use.
Thank you for fixing this, I, and others, really appreciate it. I was going crazy since I couldn't find anything.
Want to add another thank you for this add-on. As others have said, I saw my bags without it for the first time in years last night and think I will need therapy from the trauma. lol
Thank you so much for all of your time and work on this add on, it's great and you are tremendously appreciated for doing the work for our benefit.
Thanks for the fix.
For anyone confused how to do this it's quite simple.
Download this.
http://twistedguild.info/files/ArkInventory.zip (Dont worry, it's clean)
Go to Start > Computer > Cdrive > Program files > World of Warcraft folder > Interface >Addons >Arkinventory. From there find the XML Document and replace it with the new one you downloaded. Exit WoW, open it back up and it should work again.
