ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

The fix for me was disabling the addon. Opening the blizzard bags, closing the pop up, and re-enabling the addon.
Make sure you actually physically close the tooltip with the red X.
In reply to Solarin_:
Unlike almost every other UI message, this one didn't have a "X" button for me either. It was like a bubble sitting there and no way to close, not even reload UI worked. I sold the old 20 slots reagen bag and logged off completely. It was gone when logged back in, not sure which one of the methods worked or maybe both together!
In reply to radsinwa:
I had the same. I logged out, diabled ArkInventory and was able to equip the 26 slot reagent bag in the reagent bag slot and click away that popup, then re-enabled ArkInventory and it was fine since. Of course still needs to be fixed, but remember you can disable addons to workaround temporary issues.

Whenever I move the AI bag window, all items become non-interacting until I click refresh or close/reopen the window.
In fact I realized that I just need to clock anywhere in the window outside of an item for this to happen.
This doesn't cause any LUA error either, my BugSack remains green and empty...
Any suggestion|?
Currently ArkInventory appears to prevent opening of mailboxes. 3.10.09-alpha-4
In reply to Incandio:
Same problem, same version, unable to open mailbox
In reply to Incandio:
same here, fix should be:
replace all
to
if i understand that right, if not ignore it :P
humbly requesting help with setting up rule. I'm trying to group all items with the tertiary "speed". can't get it to work though. I tried
tooltip( "%+%d+ %a+ speed" )
doesn't work however. anyone who has an idea how to do it correctly? I'd be most thankful (:
tooltip( "%+%d+ speed" )
%a will match any normal letter (i think) so shouldnt be needed unless youve got something weird in front of your stats?
In reply to Arkayenro:
that worked perfectly, thanks! :)
Just wanted to say thank you for automatically disabling junk selling as I use selljunk and prefer that. Very cool.
I get these errors when i open the bags...

stop using addonskins until they fix it?
Hello,
If i have a lot of items in the mailbox (especially pets) Arkinventory seems to do a weird scan where my tooltip flashes through each one when i open the mailbox. It then keeps repeating this scan with the tooltip showing each one over & over. Its quite quick (probably a few seconds for 100's of pets) but it never did it before.
I assume its Arkinventory thats doing this as if i disable it the problem does not happen anymore but did not file a ticket in case im mistaken.
Any ideas?
EDIT: It does seem to be pets that cause it not other items.
All the best.
it did that in an old version. what version are you running and have you updated?
In reply to Arkayenro:
Hi,
Im running 3.10.09.release.
update to alpha 2
In reply to Arkayenro:
Seems to be fixed in alpha 2, not had any issues so far.
One thing i did notice all though it might be because its a alpha (was fine in the last release), the quality borders do not seem to show up on most items in my bag, Odd things do but most dont until i start moving items around. Might just be something your currently working on though,
Thanks & all the best.
