ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
the blizzard based outfit manager has always been a bit weird with the bank for some reason that i havent been able to find yet
you may also just want to use outfit() instead as that will pick up all outfits, unless you have more outfits and you specifically only want to select those particular ones?
Feature request: protect some materials from transferring to bank when I press "compact..." button.
Blue quality gems now are "materials" and transfers, but I want to always have them in my bags: for selling etc.
Hello,
I'm facing a problem when right clicking on a group > Transfer to bank

Edit:
After adding this line
to ArkInventory.toc, the error doesn't show anymore, but nothing is being transferred.
its not functional yet, still a work in progress.
please who helps me in a rule, i want the animums dropped from all quests all in one slot, i don't know how to do the rule, can you help me pls
ciao Buon game
anima is under the consumable > anima & conduits category, you dont need a rule, you can just use the category
if you need it as part of a larger rule you can use tooltip("anima")
For all those that have seen my plethora of postings about ArkInventory not working for me; I have figured out the cause of the problem. I decided since I had a lazy day today to disable and go through all my addons, one at a time, to find out which was causing the issue. Turns out, it was Tidy Plates that was making AI not work. So, if you have Tidy Plates installed, and AI's not working for you, try turning it off.
In reply to TheZeldrak:
This is true. I don't know what causes it yet other than I needed Tidy-Plates because none of my name plates work, not a good way to run dungeons, and on doing so get the "script ran too long" error. Turn off Tidy-Plates and bam it works again. I am not saavy enough with lua code to know how to fix this unfortunately.
Thank you for posting this saved my sanity.

Thank you for keeping this add-on going and for the explanation of why it might not work for Shadowlands 9.0.2. It was the "nolib" version that was being pushed out by Twitch. Unchecked the "Install Libraries separately" and that fixed it. For those who use ElvUi, make sure you disable the bag portion of the UI.
Used this addon for years. Switched to others for a bit, realized what I was missing and came running back. I've enjoyed re-learning ArkInventory, setting up new rules, adding new sorting methods, etc.
Is there a way to disable the Login messages? I've gone to Genera>Profiles>Controls and disabled all the "Notify" options. Rule Registration, Translations, and Outfitter are a bit spammy for me though and I can't find a way to disable them.
Edit: While I'm here, is there a way to move the "Default" bag to something other than your Anchor? I anchor Bottom Right w/ 5 Bars per row and would like to use Bar 2 as the default bar so I can use Bar 1 as my Outfits bar. Not really world-ending but it'd be good to know.
After updating to the newest release of ArkInventory, I get two erros, and it won't load:
and
the first one its trying to load the Blizzard_GuildBankUI addon and failing, presumably it took too long.
do you have anything that plays with the guild bank interface?
do you get the issue when just arkinventory is loaded?
the second one looks like the back-end libraries timing out from the first error
In reply to Arkayenro:
Teh only thing i have that does anything with the UI is elvui and I've had that for yeas. before the shadowlands prepatch stuff came out, it worked fine. it even started working again not too long ago after the first issue i was having that you had to fix. now it's acting up again. and yes, it even does that with only arkinventory enabled.
i installed elvui 12.13 and im not getting any errors, what if you disable elvui? does arkinventory have any issues?
In reply to Arkayenro:
This is the error I just grabbed right as i logged in, there might be more...

In reply to TheZeldrak:
Here's another...
thats essentially the same issue, its just trying to load my config addon
try disabling tomtom, it seems to be using 1.0.7 of the callbackhandler, i have 1.0.6
someone also having an issue disabled tiny plate widgets and it worked again
In reply to Arkayenro:
I disabled TomTom (and all things related), then cleared out the BugSack addon to ensure I'm not just double posting errors, and only two errors popped up in BugSack for Ark, and they are as follows:
and
For some strange reason, it worked on my demon hunter until I had to reload the UI, then it stopped working.
