ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

Hey Ark!
Since this last update, all my customization is gone. My years of compulsive sorting is all gone.
It seems to have been reset to default settings, or at least that's how it looks... :(
Please tell me all my years of sorting things isn't lost :O
Your addon is a god send for me.
you were probably using the system default profile, it should have moved to you a user default one but it would have already cleared your settings out.
the upside is that it was only the pfoile settings for which styles and designs to use on each location so you just have to pick them again in your new profile and you should be ok
just make sure its using the [1000] profile, or make one yourself and use that instead

I am trying to equip gear by stat combination, e.g. Crit/Haste gear. Using the following tooltip function it works in most cases:
tooltip("%+%d+ haste") and tooltip("%+%d+ Critical Strike")
However, if the item has a gem socketed or is enchanted, then it can cause an unintended result.
Is there another way of writing the tooltip argument to look for the stat combination as a single string instead of using
two tooltip functions joined by the "and"?
Something like: tooltip("%+%d+ haste %+%d+ Critical Strike")
at the moment no, its searching each row, not the whole text in one go, and even then is there a guarantee that blizzard always put the stats in the same order
i'll look at adding another rule function that can search against just the base stats of an item
The autosell is not working for me. It's not selling grays or items that fall under rules. I have edited the rules to match the new squish.

i know, its a conflict with TSM, will be fixed in the next release, or you can grab the latest alpha
Issue 1: Topping up the reagent bank
Case 1: Zero runecloth in reagent bank, 90 runecloth in normal bank, 10 runecloth in personal bags. I click Restack and all 100 runecloth end up in reagent bank. This is correct.
Case 2: 90 runecloth in reagent bank, 10 runecloth in personal bags. I click Restack and nothing happens. This is wrong, it should put 100 in the reagent bank.
Restack type is 'arkinventory restack' and restack options are just 'top up'.
Issue 2: Special bags such as Hyjal Expedition Bag (36 herb bag) are not restacked properly. In previous versions they were intelligently filled first so we ended up with more empty slots in the reagent bank. Now reagent bank is filled first; AI needlessly moves herbs from the Hyjal bag to the reagent bank.
Issue 3: Empty slot indicators do not refresh properly. If I move an item from the bank to my bags the number at the bottom remains the same. I have to close and reopen the bank for it to update.
issue 1 fixed in the next release, or r766-alpha
issue 2 comes from the reagent bank now pulling items from the bank when it didnt before (but should have) and its using the same code for when pulling from bags which allows it to pull from profession bags so its sort of the default unless people find it annoying enough to complain and i can work out a way to change the code to work for both
i can see issue 3 happening and will look into it - fixed in the next release, or r766-alpha

Found another pretty bad bug with TSM4+ARK.
WOW constantly crashes, when i switch an Item in my Bags, from one TSM Group to an other TSM Group.
When i deactivate ARK, this bug is gone.
Generally, working with TSM4 while using ARK feels pretty bad atm.
Often WOW crashes and and i have to restart the game and all not saved settings are lost.
Please fix asap.
Hey
Is it true that the addon does not remember where the window for the bag and the bank was last positioned? I find it very annoying that the bags and the bank every time sit in one of the corners when I log in again. Or I have to pin her in the spot where I want the windows. In order to postpone it, I would have to go back to the settings every time and that is very annoying.
(I hate the google translator...)
Edit: nvm. I've updated to alpha build r765 and now it seems to work.
yep, sorry, one of the prior versions cleared the system default profile on reload because i needed it cleared but i didnt realise people could actually use that profile (they werent meant to be able to)
Wasn't there an option to force an immediate refresh of your inventory whenever you sell an item, so that the new empty slot isn't shown?
I already enabled the custom backpack update timer in the general selection and yet the new empty slot still lingers for 1,5-2 seconds before it's behind hidden.
In previous version that was a lot faster, or I just can't find the proper option as it's been quite a long time since I've had to tinker with ArkInventory.
not specifcally for when you sell, just any item update
the update timers are for something else
you want config > settings > design > your design > window > sorting > when = instant

Reverse clean of bags does not save. It keeps resetting every log off.
